i think there's an authoritarian+violent streak to -all- of American culture now, from the left to the right, everyone and everything in-between. I don't know what that's about. The "progressives" believe in rehabilitation and stuff, unless its Bill Cosby or some other victim of MeToo, in which case they want the death penalty. Ugh.

Here where I live, the GOP is all "law and order..." for the commoners. One of their top dawgs recently got a sweet heart of a plea bargain for corruption (serious misdemeanor, probation, etc.), so clearly...they believe in 2nd chances...for rich people.

Meanwhile...as my corporate hot shot turned full time ministry work cousin tells me: "get you eyes fixed on Christ, and Him Crucified." I"m gettin' there... :)

I'm happy to not fully agree with you on the point that *all* of the US is embroiled in a violent authoritarian streak. I'm thoroughly vexed that the hard left Antifa influence wishes to exert authoritarianism via it's actions, ranging from shouting down speakers they openly feel have no 1st amendment rights, to Eric Canton, their violent criminal College Prof caught busting heads with a bike lock in a sock.
I purposefully do not go to such rallies or demonstrations because I can tell you Eric Canton would've been caught red-handed if he had hit me instead. As a former hockey player I know exactly how I'd react and respond, and he wouldn't have been able to hit me a second time, if his first attempt had been able to connect which is pretty unlikely.
So I stay away from such "peaceful protests." In fact when I went to a town hall meeting with my House representative, I was dressed for a fight just in case it came to that.

My point here is: have you considered becoming a monastic? Living in a Monastery, being a monk.

Yes I'm serious. The contributions they've made through the centuries to the Church as a whole are profound. You've mentioned a 5 year plan, to figure out how you should survive your parents. That's a good time frame, it's not something to take lightly.

This is Antifa, and their influence. Many people are buying into their ideology without even realizing it. It is a very dangerous game they play. Are you aware of the College Prof in jail for violence via bike lock?
Tumblr had a bully people into submission mindset even several years ago, before the 2016 election.
I think it was 3 or 4 years ago, they bullied an artist to the point she was admitted to a psyche ward. Why? She drew fan art that depicted an Asian fictional character with slanted eyes and drew a Steven Universe character slightly less fat than she was in-series.

Yeah, I heard about that. What really irks me about this is they do this in the name of tolerance, and have no remorse for the harm they do to people.
