((btw "trekkee" is not pronounced trekkie but in honor of George Takai as trekk-ay))

If so, which is your favorite version?

And would a show created by humanist of the year Gene Roddenberry be considered wholesome entertainment?

I believe Christians can have secular interests / hobbies. Just so long as it does not take away from their calling and ministry.

As works of pure fiction, the various series were interesting. Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda series was also entertaining. The man had an active imagination, and was a talented story teller..

Unfortunately, Gene was an atheist. By now, he realizes his mistake. Some of his views came out in his shows, and might deceive those who don't know the Bible well. So caveat emptor when it comes to what you allow your children to watch. Some people can be entertained by Star Trek, and realize that its completely fiction. However, others might be affected by atheistic themes in some of the episodes.

One of my favorite episodes. Kirk destroys god worship. A sideways stab at Christianity I always thought.

entertainment. take it as such. the bible isn't written for that. it would be hard to write the jewish version of the 13 trials of Heracles , with King David son of Jesse as the Hero.

Oh, I don't know. Some of the stories in the Bible make for interesting entertainment.

I don't know I guess I'm not a Trekee.
trekkie. but well Roddenberry believed in secular humanism and that men could sooner or later figure out the problems common to man and work together. the earth is united under a single banner(the federation symbol/flag is a modified version of the U.N.) the U.N fails in trek time lines at about the late 1990s' eugenic's war. after a few decades of chaos after that. a man named zephrym Cochrane invents the warp drive and is greeted by the Vulcans at the end of www3 with a truce and men unite to learn more about space and work together.

Did not know that about Roddenberry. There is a ine given by William Shatner as Captain Kirk in TOS, IIRC, "Humanity has no need for gods; we find the One sufficient".
