I was unethically terminated from my just over broke job for a work related injury.

So I'm marketing full time but not by choice.

I have a sub teaching licence but when your starting out it is nearly being unemployed.

Need to register with more school districts.

But it is kind of depressing when you harm your health bending over backwards for an employer and then to be terminated when you try and get your health back.

PVYSC IS WORSE THEN THE FIG TREE JESUS CURSED!!!!

I have tried but get so tired of making MLM presentations. I learned that look on people's faces when they realize it's "one of those." But I think it could work....it's just much more work than they make it out to be and much more work than other income sources.

Before I got married, I lived with a room mate who is very religiously involved with MLM. For the past 5 years now, he's been with a company called 5linx, and that is all he ever talks about 95% of the time. I have him blocked from my facebook news feed because I have grown tired of be bombarded with his endless posts on "how great" 5linx is. I can't even tell you how many times he has had people delete him off of facebook because of it. It's impossible to go anywhere with him without him flapping his gums about it to someone, and I find his obsession with it rather annoying. After 5+ years with them, he has not made a dime with them all while relying on welfare to pay his bills, and yet he believes it will make him a millionaire someday. *rolls eyes* Personally I think MLM companies like 5linx, ACN and others alike are nothing but pyramid scams and brainwash. I find it even more scary that despite being a Christian, he believes in "The Secret" (aka "The Law of Attraction") and that thinking "positive thoughts" will make his 5linx dreams come true magically. That seems to be another common characteristic among MLMers.

I have tried certain mlm "opportunities" in the past to limited to no success. I have also worked for a company whose distribution system was mlm and have come to the following conclusion: multi-level marketing is the most ridiculous business model ever invented. You are selling way overpriced items that people can just get at regular brick and mortar stores. You are talking people into a subscription service to get products they really don't need, and the company barely makes a profit because of the comp plan they have built into their "system." The company I used to work for, which no longer exists, made energy drinks. In order for anyone to actually make a profit off of the product they would have to sell each can (which was 8oz, btw) for at least $4 a can. How competitive is that?

I know this is an old post. If you try to sell products in a MLM business, Your not going to last long. McDonalds don't even sell food products and they are doing very well.

Which is truly the ironic thing about MLMs. The purpose of the company is to sell products, but the purpose of the Distributors is to get people signed up under them which really has nothing to do with the products, just how quickly they can get those people to get signed up under them, and so on... This is why there has been such negative talk about them being pyramid schemes.

They work, but it's not about selling products. McDonalds does not even sale their product as it's one molecule away from being plastic. MlM's are about selling yourself and excitement. You pull people in to be a part of something. It's fun, its club, its unique.

When I was in Monavie (Top 3 wins in fortune 500) It was a (good) product. Even good for you, but at 25.00 for a bottle of the stuff it is not even possible to sale it. Same with Mary K. You can't sale below average products at higher prices than Cover Girl at Walmart. The ones that win at MLM are the ones that know how to keep people excited and together. I use to say..."Hey, I got this great product and I don't know, but people are making crazy money with this. Our meetings are just a blast, and we are all just having a great time."

I realized that no matter how great Monavie was as a product, it was not going to sell, in fact, people really did not want to know about it, they just wanted to know they can quite their job and have a great time doing it. Once I changed my pitch, I started to get all kinds of people to sign up. "Oh, by the way, it is good for you also."

Amyway's SA8 Laundry soap is the best out there, the stuff is amazing, and so is their spray and wash product. You can clean a engine with the stuff. I never got into Amway but I saw why people failed trying to sell the products.

McDonalds................ They do not sell food. They sell "I'm Lov'in it!!!" Convince and affordable. They never sell how good their food is, or good for you.

Olive Garden........ They don't sell their food either. A salt lick in the shape of pasta. You will see happy Family's, a pan around of the Italian atmosphere, and people having a great time with a very happy server. Normally a few food specials are thrown in about 8 sec at the end. It's not food they are selling.

Yep, that is it!!!! The Pyramid Schemes are pretty awesome if done right though. You always want a binary system. However, out of those 50 you sign up, can you produce just 1 that is as hungry as you? Just one that understands it's not about the product? that was my problem, I was getting nice checks, but I had lots of people not doing anything and it was frustrating.

Blessings
Mike.

Brother Mike, but that is the truly bad thing about MLM. Eventually you get to the point where the snake is eating its own tail. So much so that you run out of prospects to sign up. If it isn't about the product, then why offer one at all?

That is a good way to put it!!! :)

It takes tremendous effort to make it work. It can work, but I burnt out. I was just wanting One person who was hungry and so the snake kept eating until he hit the head. Poof!!!!

Mike.
