I'm not extraordinary, but I'll give it a try. Here's what I'm thinking. I'll create a game at http://www.chess.com/echess/ and when someone accepts and I see they're on line, I'll PM them and then start a game. They will go to this link, look for the name I give them and accept right away so someone doesn't accept my challenge first. They will accept, and then it's at our own pace. If a move take 5 minutes or 5 days, it will be on. The winner can brag in this thread. :)

I think this will work. Anyone in?

Yes! I'm playing chess against the PC right now. Best program MS ever made was the chess one!

PM me when we're both on line! Nothing is more OUTRAGEOUS than a game of chess between two guys on a forum! :lol

That is a lot simpler than what I thought you were proposing, which was to call the moves in this thread. Personally, I have never memorized the board positions so I would easily get lost as to where all the pieces were.

Interesting side note, and uncle of mine (who passed along time ago) would have correspondence games with a colleague of his. They each had a chess board setup and would send letters back and forth which would include their next moves, and would keep track on their respective boards.

I've done that. Friend was in another state. Lots of fun back then. Online chess is fun but computers ruined it for me. I do play a few fast games from time to time on a free chess server. But I stink at the fast stuff.
