I presume that the choice of the word "Allah" in the Arabic translation of the Bible was simply down to the translators.

It is commonly believed that the Arabic word "Allah" is the word in Arabic that means "God"

I would be interested to know if this be true, or whether there is another word.

1Ch 16:26 For all the gods of the people are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.
. Does the Arabic state "All the allahs of the nations are idols?

Ps 86:8 ¶ Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.

Does the Arabic state, " Among the allahs there is none like unto thee, o Lord:"?

Allah the false god from Islam

Allah in the Arabic Bible vs Allah of the Quran

Salam1: Oh, and by the way, since you don't belive (sic) in Allah, can you plez (sic) tell me why the Arabic Bible says "Allah" every time there is God?

Gary: I do not believe in the god called Allah as Muhammad describes Him in the Quran. The Allah of the Arabic Bible has different attributes to the Allah of the Quran.

Other points:
(1) Allah was known and worshipped as a pagan deity long before Muhammad. He was a somewhat misunderstood or misrepresented form of the God of Abraham, and although given a biblical appearance by Muhammad, is different in character and essence.
(2) The description of Jahweh Elohim (in the Bible) and Allah (in the Qur'an) are varying very much in all its finer details, although both are viewed to be the creator, almighty etc., and to judge mankind on the Last Day.
(3) Muhammad - the only witness to the Qur'an and by that merit of Islam - does not qualify biblically as a prophet, particularly since his message differs fundamentally from our Scripture which was revealed to many prophets over a period of 1400 years. There is no other acceptable evidenced reason by which Muhammad could be classified as trustworthy, above the biblical writers whom he contradicts.
(4) There is no reasonable evidence of the divine origin of the Qur'an.
(5) Arab Christians use the name Allah for the God of the Bible, this simply being the Arab word for god. In the Arabic Bibles the Word Elohim or Theos (= God) is always translated as Allah. This goes back to the time before Islam!

Salam 1, How do you know Allah exists? Allah was the brain child of Mohammed, a self admitted ordinary man. Do you believe everything you read? If so, then why not believe Jesus's words? If you don't believe everything you read, then why do you believe Mohammed? Since he admitted he was a human being who says things right and says things wrong, how can you trust him? Jesus is not a self-admitted ordinary human being and His life works and His words are a testimony to that because he did everything He said He would. Also, there is not one thing He ever said that can be proven a lie. If Mohammed said he was just a man and nothing more, do you not believe him? If you do believe what he said about being just a man, then why do you believe he's the way to God?

Salam 1, How do you know Allah exists?

Do you belive in God?

Allah was the brain child of Mohammed, a self admitted ordinary man.

So, this illiterate man wrote a book, rivaling the literature of all books of man??

No, Allah sent down this word to him, and he dictated to his literate companions.

Do you believe everything you read? If so, then why not believe Jesus's words?

The Jesus of Islam, yes, not the Jesus of Christianity.

Since he admitted he was a human being who says things right and says things wrong, how can you trust him?

The Quran is from Allah not from Prophet Muhammed pbuh.

then why do you believe he's the way to God?

Allah mercy is the way to Allah. Not Prophets, they are there to warn us, and teach us.

A religion is only as good as the testimony of the messenger. If the messenger is sinful, then his testimony can't be trusted. Allah was a vision from Mohammed. It is undisputed that he sinned. If you are worshipping Mohammed's God then you are putting your faith in Mohammed, an ordinary man, which is worshipping the sinful human being. That is idol worship. The moslems have no connection to the real God.

I guess the silence means that they have no answer to my questions!

Salam1,

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allaah says: ‘I have prepared for My righteous slaves that which no eye has seen, no ear has heard and it has never crossed the mind of man.’

I find it interesting, and contradictory, that Islam states that the Bible is so corrupted, yet here Muhammad uses a scripture from the Bible, almost word-for-word.

“Trays of gold and cups will be passed round them; (there will be) therein all that inner‑selves could desire, and all that eyes could delight in and you will abide therein foreverâ€Â

I also find it interesting that the heaven in Islam is all about fulfilling one's selfish desires, nothing much about worshiping and glorifying God.

Salam1: Its heaven right?? Heaven is a place where your wish, is always granted.

If this quote from Gary is correct, that you stated this, that means there would be much sin in heaven. There would be boasting, pride, lust, envy, etc.

You really need to think about these things salam1.

1. If Moses's pbuh followers rejected him, since he sinned, would you take to to be a smart act for his followers to undertake? Prophet Muhammed was going for good things, good works, and a belife in ONE God (Allah).

2. I am putting my faith in Allah.

If the messenger is sinful, then his testimony can't be trusted.

Oh really? Heidi, you must then reject all the Prophets, since they sinned, ok? So go now and reject, go on. Reject them for beliveing in ONE God. I dare you.

The moslems have no connection to the real God.

So that is why we pray to ONE God and belive in ONE God, and not a trinity? And we also love good things for ONE God and forsake bad things for ONE God? I could go on...

Prophet Muhammed pbuh was illiterate. By the way, the Arabic Bible didn't come into being until the 17th century, if knowledge serves me right.

Discriptions of heaven are given to show the belivers that their rightous deeds on earth will be worth it. We are commanded to glorify God 5 times a day with prayer, we are commanded to do good works, to live well and healty, to read the Quran, to make pilgramage to Hajj. We Glorify God so many times Free. If you want to Glorify God in heaven, more the power to you, its your eternity.

Nope, not a single harmful emotion will be felt, happiness for eternity. In the Garden of Paradise. The idea is that we should not sin on Earth, but we can do whatever we want in heaven.

It is such an easy thing to understand, I don't know why you guys get so tight up on this??

Salam1,

It is very possible that Muhammed wasn't illiterate.

Discriptions of heaven are given to show the belivers that their rightous deeds on earth will be worth it.

So the believer who lives righteously gets rewarded by being allowed to live unrighteously?

And this is one of the main problems with Islam and virtually every other religious belief outside of Christianity - they all claim that man has to do something, some sort of works, in order to get to heaven or be saved. Christianity on the other hand, correctly identifies the evil heart of man and that man is incapable of doing anything in and of himself to attain salvation, and looks instead to God himself and redemption through Christ. God did what is impossible for man to do.

I know, without a single doubt, that one day I'll be in heaven. Can you be so sure?

Nope, not a single harmful emotion will be felt, happiness for eternity. In the Garden of Paradise. The idea is that we should not sin on Earth, but we can do whatever we want in heaven.

Because that is completely contradictory! This shows the evil of men's hearts and proves my point above. Thinking that one will be able to do whatever one wants in heaven, especially things that are wrong to do here on earth, is the epitome of pride and immorality.

If something is morally wrong here, it is wrong for all eternity because it goes against the nature of God and as such it will always be wrong - morality is based on the nature of God and he is eternal and unchanging.

Also, if no harmful emotion will be felt in heaven, what would happen if there was a beautiful woman in heaven that a man wanted. Isn't that lust? What if another man wanted her as well, but the first guy got her? Not only is that lust, but suddenly you have competition which will create pride, jealousy and even anger. What if the woman didn't want to be with either? Would there clones> Could every man have the same woman?

The possibilities are endless and your perfect little heaven is full of contradiction and sin and comes crashing down. The heaven of Islam is a very contradictory and untenable belief.

Moses was a prophet. He made no claims about being the way to God. Jesus brought the only connection to God that we can have because He gave us the love back that we lost through original sin. He said He was the son of God and every action He did, He backed it up. If the Jesus of the Qu'ran is different than the Jesus of the bible then where did the Qu'ran get those stories? They were written hundreds of years after the NT. What made them re-write the NT when they weren't even there?

I'm sure you'll say a vision from Allah. First of all, Allah did come from Mohammed's mind and for some reason the Moslems have put their faith in the sinner, Mohammed. Secondly, the truth has NO contradictions. In order for Moslems to believe Mohammed, they have to re-write history (the NT). There is no evidence that the Jesus in the Qu'ran is the real Jesus because it wasn't based on eye-witness accounts. He is simply what they want to believe Him to be, even if it bears no relationship to eyewitness accounts. It's just like me saying that i know what happened when Jesus was on this earth because i have special powers. That's exactly what the Qu'ran teaches.

There are so many contradictions in the Islamic religion but truth has no contradictions. The faith was built on a sinner and contradicts history. The only thing that keeps Islam alive is the FEAR of looking at those contradictions.

I had a vision from Komar, the one true God, last night and he told me who my enemies were and to go kill them. Also, I know exactly what happened when Jesus was alive (even though i wasn't there, Komar revealed it to me) so I'm going to write down who He really is. If i told you this, would you believe me? If so, why? If not, why not?
