I still listen to secular music, like Tull, Led Zep, and many more, God did not tell me to stop. What I do now is pick what I listen to. So that it is not contrary to God. Today's Gospel has changed, Gospel rock, Gospel R&B, Gospel Jazz, Gospel Metal. It is a lot of mixing going on now. And I love it. I even have some forums on my site for secular music. Because secular music is important too. I started out being a secular musician, I, O secular music a lot.

Not Christian music. I play guitar. Incidentally, the first time my Pastor friend came over to stay with us he gave us a lasting memory when he came down the stairs srtumming his guitar and singing the lyrics to 'I wanna be sedated' :) One of those useful reminders that religious leaders are human beings too. :biggrin

I'm in my 3rd year of guitar lessons.I'll be 14 soon I began violin in September last fall, and I take that during the school year although I keep on it at home.I also play piano, but no lessons..we just have one I mess around with.

What do you mean by muscians? Do you mean people who have played instruments for all their life or people who are just starting up or both. Three months ago I started to learn how to play the guitar. Does that count as a musician or at least a beginning musician?

I play drums.
I want to begin drums but there isn't time with everything else.I like the guy from the 1980's band motley crue.Tommy Lee.

I play a bit of several instruments, guitar, brass, piano (a tad), and can keep a rhythm on drums.

I am self taught on every instrument I can play, which is probably why I am not a world class musician of any variety :-D I think the best advice to anyone wanting to learn is find someone to teach you, if you can't afford pro lessons, then find someone local who can give you a few pointers, it will make a world of difference.

Any locals here can go to Monday nites guitar jam sessions at Liverpool Kirkdale's 'The Dark House', R/o The Wellington - near station, I'm told

Homesick
Mercy Me

You're in a better place, I've heard a thousand times
And at least a thousand times I've rejoiced for you
But the reason why I'm broken, the reason why I cry
Is how long must I wait to be with you

I close my eyes and I see your face
If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place
Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
I've never been more homesick than now

Help me Lord cause I don't understand your ways
The reason why I wonder if I'll ever know
But, even if you showed me, the hurt would be the same
Cause I'm still here so far away from home

I close my eyes and I see your face
If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place
Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
I've never been more homesick than now

In Christ, there are no goodbye
And in Christ, there is no end
So I'll hold onto Jesus with all that I have
To see you again
To see you again

And I close my eyes and I see your face
If home's where my heart is then I'm out of place
Lord, won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
Won't you give me strength to make it through somehow
Won't you give me strength to make it through somehow

I've never been more homesick than now

I am a musician and songwriter. I am a multi-instrumentalist who plays guitars, keyboards, synthesizers, bass, banjo, and I'm taking up the drums, too.

I write experimental pop like the Flaming Lips, Air, The Beatles, Beach Boys, Van Dyke Parks, Harry Nilsson, Cornelius, Ween, etc.

How soon will it grow to 100 members, folks? :tongue

Well it is at almost 100, but I am trying to get the people to start posting. I am almost at eleven thousand hits and the forum is only about six or 7 months old. But to make the site a sucess people have got to post. So I will just be patient.

Hello. I've been a vocalist for about 15 years. Love all types of music. I was also a music ed. major in college 2 1/2 years (didn't finish). I've been heavily involved (on and off) with community theater for the past 6 years. My husband's been a drummer for about 20 years.

:)

Guitarist for 18yrs. I suck hehe

I play Classical, Blues, Rock, Metal, Flammingo country. I taught myself how to read music, so if I can't play it, give me a guitar book and in a couple of days I'll have it down. The tempo might need adjusting. We call it -timing-
