It was more of a Hollywood version of what they think Christianity is, than what it really is. I thought that the movie was made to purposely shed bad light on Christianity. Hollywood would never do that. :o

I dont think it was too biased.

The missionaries did feed the tribespeople and try to help. But then you have the part with the flu wiping out half the tribe..... Just like when the white man came to North America and propagated the plague here....

I have been to the amazon and honestly the movie did portray the "feeling" of natives towards missionaries quite well.

:) The natives played their parts ok. I was thinking more of the people who were playing the Christians in the movie. If I remember correctly, Cathy Bates runs around half naked going crazy as a result of her living in the Jungle and also because of her demanding husband, who I thought was kind of cult like in the way he acted.

The movie just had that kind of edge to it, you know, like these Characters are Hollywoods perspective on what they think Christians are, or would like others to think we are. I'm not saying it's out of touch with what could really happen, it just seemed that the movie went out of it's way to portray the Christians as being as dysfunctional as possible.

Warning, their is some full nudity in this movie, and it's not the natives. :o

Yha too bad eh.....

I see your point that the missionaries were kind of fruitcakes to begin with.

Still a great movie though.
