So you think mystery Babylon, THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH, described in Rev 17 and destroyed in Rev 18 is Jerusalem? Who do you think the revived Empire is in the end times that received a deadly wound, but the wound was healed?

I'll give you a clue as it's not the Jewish remnant of the 12 tribes of Jerusalem, but the mystery Babylonian government that has always ruled over this nation and have killed the prophets including Christ, but they have not yet realized Christ is coming back for His own.

Well ,lets see.Jerusalem is the capital of a country that was thought to have been destroyed and didn't exist for about 2000 years. And your asking what do I think has been revived?

What on earth are you talking about? Jerusalem has always been the capital of Israel even though the city has been destroyed many times it still remains the beloved city of God as the generational remnant of the 12 tribes of Israel have already started returning back to their promised homeland. Jerusalem and Gods people who are called by His name has always existed, but also ruled by a Babylonian type government.

Babylon the Great in Revelation is a reference to Rome, the capital of the Roman Empire just as the number "666" is the number of Nero's name.
It would have been too dangerous for John to have used "Rome" and "Nero".

What will be Babylon in the future?
Who knows?
New York maybe. It's the financial capital of the world at the moment but that could easily change in the next 10 or 100 or 1000 years.

I think mystery Babylon is Babylon because it says mystery Babylon the great, not, mystery, now go and try find the mystery city I just told you was Babylon.

All idolatry and all nations even right now are drunk by babylon, it is the Mother of all nations, the city, and as Paul said the mystery of iniquity already work.

Its not a mystery, its revealing the mystery that has polluted and consumed the nations.

So I said to the angel who talked with me, “Where are they carrying the basket?”
And he said to me, “To build a house for it in the land of Shinar".

Every believer should be able to see it, its all around us.

Just as Abraham was called out of Babylon, Christ calls people out of the nations. Come out of her. In the world not of the world.

Interesting.

Rev 17:9 “Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits".
Rome is built on 7 hills.
Rome was the capital of John's world in the 1st century.

But I like your extrapolation. It makes sense to me.

but then I'm

It's not a mystery who Babylon was back in it's founding up to present day as scripture gives us the clues of what was, what is and what is yet to come and the deadly wound that came in 1798 with General Berthier of France and Mussolini healed the wound in 1929.

Rev 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

This is the son of perdition being the beast out of the earth that the beast out of the sea gives power to him who comes with lying signs and wonders, Rev 13. Some math is required to understand who this beast is as being the eight and also the seventh that goes into perdition. It's an eye opener study.

Show me where I came against the ToS? No, it's not an ear tickle study, but a deeper serious study in the word through the Holy Spirit that reveals all truth. Some refuse truth as they lean on mans theories. Ishmael started it all, not me.

I've seen that "head healed = papacy" many times.
So please, don't try to play innocent.

Oh! Amazing! More "deep knowledge" about why the Pope's the antichrist.
whoopie

Oh! I see. "the deadly wound that came in 1798 with General Berthier of France and Mussolini healed the wound in 1929." isn't man's theories it's Holy Spirit revealed "deep knowledge."
Please.
Knock off the "pope's the antichrist" baloney.
It's this kind of nonsense that keep the Church divided against itself and encourages division which is explicitly contrary to Jesus' stated desire at John 17 that we be ONE.

Yes, you did say I was breaking the ToS about talking about the Pope, but it is you that mentioned the Pope as I never did. I am only bringing up history of those who have always persecuted those who are of faith in God and His Son Christ Jesus.

Rev 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

That of Rev 13 is revealed in Daniel Chapters 7-9 as it takes some history to understand the seven hills that are the seven nations of the four empires that began with the Babylonian empire up to present day.

And it the Pope, right?
Of course right.
Some folks just have a need to hate the pope.
Why is that?

How did Mussolini heal anything? You do realize he was an evil fascist dictator, right?

Those who have been taught to despise the pope and anything RC have been fed the fantastic story of how the papacy is the beast with the wounded head whom Mussolini "healed" by restoring the authority of the pope.
It's pure dreck but those who have been taught to love to hate the pope eat it up like it was prime rib.
It's also a great demonstration of how people will take the Revelation out of God's word and use it to sell books, and cds, and DVDs, and give seminars and make lotsa money tickling people's ears with their "deep knowledge' and revealing the amazing "hidden things from the Bible".

A fellow with the gift of gab and a PowerPoint presentation can make a pretty good living peddling hatred of the pope.

Unfortunately, I suspect that such foolishness will continue until the Lord returns.

oh well.....

God usually uses a broad brush when name calling.
In Old Testament phrophetic writings on many occasions God called the whole nation of Israel a prostitute as well as a beautiful bride.
And for God to single out a specific denomination with this kind of name calling....out of character. It must therefore be all denominations inclusively. Not just the Catholics but also the Baptist, Methodist, AOG, Presbyterian, SDA, Orthodox, Lutheran.....need I continue?

Yes he was an evil dictator. Look up General Berthier of France and what he did n 1798 as far as closing down something causing a deadly wound to come upon it and what Mussolini gave back in 1929 as he healed the deadly wound that should have kept closed. That's all I can say.

There it is again you, not I, that is bringing up the papacy and the Pope that I have never mentioned. Sometimes it's within the foolishness of what one says that will make another dig a little deeper in their studying as they compare scripture with the history of those days.

I wouldn't waste my money on all those end time books and CD's these bandwagon Preachers put out there to line their own pockets. It's through scripture and history of the times of the Prophets, Jesus and the Disciples that makes it all very clear who caused them to die a martyr's death. Just because something looks pleasant on the outside doesn't mean it is not full of evil on the inside.
