Who interpreted the tongues(languages) spoken on the day of Pentecost? I have ask this before; Was the " miracle" on the day of Pentecost in the speaking or in the hearing? Who was it that interpreted tongues on the day of Pentecost?
They (the righteous) heard in their own language. Interpretation is to take a tongue and make the understanding known. The righoutous heard in their own language.

Speaking in a tongue is the miracle of general discussion. Interpretation of a tongue not yours is also a miracle / gift. The day of Pentecost was in the speaking.

Prophesy is a miracle / gift / office.

Daniel 5:12 KJV
Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation.

If, as you say, interpretation is "making the understanding known", why would they need an interpreter if they "heard in their own language"? would they not have understood their own language?

It is my understanding that there are 2 ways to understand "prophecy"
1. A forth telling of something new
2. A explanation of what has already happened. This was the interpretation that was given for Belshazzar through Daniel. The writing on the wall had already happened, and was a future event. Daniel didn't "foretell" only told what it meant.

Am I wrong in my understanding?

With great reserve: you are about right.
Daniel 5:28 KJV
PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.

Done deal but not manifested

Daniel 5:29 KJV
Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.
30 In that night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain.
31 And Darius the Median took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.

Does not mention Persians yet. How come the future is not beginning to happen?

Let’s leap to little before pentecost.
Matthew 28:19 KJV
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Then

On Pentecost representatives of nations are present. What do the speakers need?
Tongues.
What did the speakers get?
Tongues.

When the heaters returned home, the preparation for the missionary journeys was made (in hearers and speakers).

Don Stewart :: Is the Baptism with the Holy Spirit a Second Experience following Salvation?

There are some people who contend that each believer needs a second experience subsequent to salvation to give him power. Many refer to this experience as the baptism with the Holy Spirit. It seems best from Scripture to understand the baptism with the Holy Spirit as a non-experiential work that happens to the believer when he trusts Christ.

Every Spiritual Blessing

The reason there is no need for a second blessing or crisis experience for the believer is because every spiritual blessing has been given us by God through Jesus Christ. Scripture never commands believers to seek a second blessing after salvation. The Apostle Paul told the Ephesians:

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3).

God has also made us complete in Christ:

For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power (Colossians 2:9,10).
