Acts 2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 6:19
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

Matthew 5:14-16 "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.

hello Hermit, dirtfarmer here

Does Acts 2:38 apply to the body of Christ? It is my understanding that all my sin was placed upon Christ on the cross and as Romans 8:1, " There is therefore no condemnation to them which are in Jesus Christ". Does this "no condemnation" mean that "we have to repent and be baptized" in order for the condemnation of sin to pass or is the only requirement, believe that Christ has already been judged for the sin of the world. It is my belief that the only sin that brings condemnation is the sin of unbelief at the time of physical death of a person

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (KJV)
I will not answer your question. You need to answer it yourself.
You already know what is true in you.
To question it, is to seek a way around it.
Find what you no longer need to question about it, even if you don't like it, and it's doubtlessness is your truth.

The only baptism necessary for the believer is the baptism of the Spirit according to 1 Corinthians 12:13; that is the way that the believer has entrance into the body of Christ.

The only judgment that the believer will have to stand, is the judgment of their works, and that is not for entrance into heaven, but to determine if Christ was glorified or self was glorified.

To not believe in Christ, at the point of physical death, is the sin of unbelief; that consigns a person to the lake of fire. It is my belief that any one that doesn't believe does not have the ability to commit sins that break fellowship with God and that is because no relationship with God has been established. It is only those that have the "relationship" established with God in Christ that can break "fellowship". The relationship with God of the believers is eternally secure and can not be broken.

Hello dirtfarmer.
I understand what you are saying yet there are differences of definition with all of us.
...To not believe in Christ, at the point of physical death, is the sin of unbelief; that consigns a person to the lake of fire. ...
Some Christians us continual prayer to remain in Christ. One reason for this is because they know that yesterday is history and tomorrow is a mystery. And today is the present and that is why it is called a gift. But seriously, we cannot guarantee that at the point of death that our mind is on Christ. Death can be sudden and unexpected.

John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on them.
To not obey the Son is to reject the Son.
There is currently a good thread about the Commandments of Christ. In it you will see all sorts of things to believe in Christ and obey. Such as: Matthew 5:22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, 'Raca,' is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell.

Seriously, are you incapable of not sinning, of not momentarily breaking the relationship with Christ when angry, or making a judgment on others? If so, how can you say you won't suddenly get a massive heart attack in a middle of anger, and drop dead in sin.

What I am saying is, we are not yet perfect in Christ, not while we are here on earth. We try to remain a Light in the world. We are human and our Light flickers from bright to almost extinguished many times in the day. All we can say is that we have a light, but we cannot guarantee it will be bright for the remainder of our life. IMHO.

If you wish to believe you are incapable of breaking the fellowship with Christ, from moment to moment, then you must be a lovely bright Light indeed.

Can a person continually police their mouth, should but no, as we do allow emotions to interfere at times, but as soon as we get in the flesh we must immediately recognize it and get back into the spirit as grace does not give us a license to sin, but will forgive when we do when we acknowledge we messed up as only God knows our heart.

We are not perfect, but are being perfected daily as it is only when Christ returns that imperfection is clothed with perfection. Emotions can be deceiving and the words we speak are either life or death and can never be taken back, but goes forth to that of which it is to accomplish. Words can cover up the light, but not distinguish it. I know in my own life my mouth gets me in trouble, but I still believe even if I were to die at that moment of anger I still have the love of Christ in me, even though for a brief moment I reacted to emotions.

I am not saying that we can't interrupt our fellowship, but I am saying that we can't break our relationship. Relationship is established when we accept what God has accomplished for us through Jesus Christ: heir and joint heir with Christ. "Fellowship" is broken when we are overtaken by a fault or when we rebel against God by doing what we know is not God's will, but that doesn't break our "relationship". We are still heirs and joint heirs(relationship) but God chastises us when we disobey, just as our earthly father chastised us when we disobeyed. We are still our father's child, our birth right doesn't change. Just as with our heavenly Father, our birth right doesn't change, we are still His child, just not in fellowship until we confess( say the same thing that God does) our faults.

hello for_his_glory, dirtfarmer here

I believe that sin was paid for on the cross by Jesus Christ, therefore there is no forgiveness given, nor needed, when the believer errs. As far as God looking on the believer, he sees them in Christ and covered by the blood of Christ. Atonement is described = "As if I had never sinned". You never find any scripture that states that God is well pleased with the believer, but, you do find scripture that states that God was well pleased with Jesus Christ.

Other than the clarification in the above paragraph, I agree with you post.

Basically when we realize we have sinned we know there is no more sacrifice for sin when we know the truth, Hebrews 10:26, but we do need to repent or in other words tell God we are sorry that we disappointed Him as it keeps a good fellowship flow between us and God.

It is my belief that Hebrews was written to a Jewish audience and not to the Church for doctrine. I do believe that it was written by Paul but not to Gentile or Jewish believers.

In Hebrews 6:6 it is not stated that they couldn't be renewed to salvation, but to repentance. The terms, have been enlightened, have tasted of the heavenly gift, and partakers of the Holy Spirit, are not New Testament terms for salvation. No where in Hebrews is it stated that these people have been justified, sanctified, born again, regenerated, or saved. There is no mention of faith or eternal life. John said in 1:9 that every man has been enlightened by the true light, but all that have been enlightened have not been saved.

Tasted means to be experiencing something. The experience is real but necessarily total. The Israelites experienced blessing from God during the wilderness journey, but not all crossed over into the land of promise. People can experience(taste) the blessing of God by associating with his people and still have an unbelieving heart. According to 1 Corinthians 10:1-5 the Israelites did this in the wilderness because of unbelief.

The authenticity of the author of Hebrews has never been established. I believe it might have been written to the Jews who once tasted the good word of God, but were contemplating turning back to Judaism. We know grace is a gift from God for by grace are we saved through faith, Ephesians 2:8. Faith is belief in God, Jesus, Holy Spirit.

What I am speaking about is not being renewed or bringing back the sacrifice that was already made for us for our sin, but that only of not grieving the Holy Spirit, Ephesians 4:29, 30, when we do sin. It's like when we sin no matter the sin as sin is sin we are humbling our self before the Lord as we ask for forgiveness even though we are already forgiven, but it establishes Gods righteousness that needs to be found in us.
