Hi SH - Thanks for the interesting reply and my thanks too for reaping where I have not sowed.

Shhhh.... don't encourage the bird!

To Him who is called, "I AM" what may I say?
What has been said?
"Here I am, Lord."

There is a long tradition and scriptural precedent for this.

Gen 22:1 said:
Now it came about after these things, that God tested Abraham, and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am.

The Waters of Marah seen in Exodus 15 said:
…verses 24-26... So the people grumbled at Moses, saying, "What shall we drink?" Then he cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a tree; and he threw it into the waters, and the waters became sweet. There He made for them a statute and regulation, and there He tested them. And He said, "If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the LORD your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the LORD, am your healer."…

1 Sam 3 said:
Then the Lord called Samuel.

Samuel answered, “Here I am.” 5 And he ran to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.”

But Eli said, “I did not call; go back and lie down.” So he went and lay down.

6 Again the Lord called, “Samuel!” And Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, “Here I am; you called me.”

“My son,” Eli said, “I did not call; go back and lie down.”

Isa 6 said:
8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”

And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

Deut 8:2; Prov 17:3

Acts 9:10: Ananias said:
The Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias.” And he said,
“Here I am, Lord.” ... Ananias! and he said, Here I am, Lord. ...

When the Great I AM speaks, we who respond say, "Here I AM". This saying? The locator declared? It does understand that the Lord counts each hair and is not a question about if God knows or does not know. It is more a statement about where we are, at this time, than wondering about the Omniscience and Omnipotence of the Great I AM. I am here, Lord. Right here where you know me to be. Meet me here, where I need You. Be my "I shall cause it to Happen Sufficiency," for I do hear your call and do stand, resting at your pleasure, in response.

Send me. Anoint me. Ordain me. That I may serve you, Most High and that I be given a crown to cast to your Feet O Most Holy. There is none like you. Call me Michael, for this is my name, it is a question, "Who is like GOD? (like EL)?" Write upon me a new name, one that You have for me and it shall be mine. Let it be your White Stone Name for me, I am here, Lord. Cause me to be with YOU. And not for me, but for each one You call. Join us fitly and jointly. Be our God that we may be Your people. Answer the heart's cry of your only begotten here in the hearts that are Your possession, bought with great price, listening as it is declared, "If we are blessed to join in His death through baptism? How much more so as we are joined into His life."

Shhhhh... little bird. Calm your heart. Be still.

Yes. I am here, Lord.

Thanks again Deb for sharing your thoughts, which is I believe one of the reasons for blogging. The concept of the OP is something I've been contemplating for the last twenty years of my thirty-five year walk with Christ and finally decided to share it within this last year.

I appreciate you sharing it. I've thought on the same things. But certainly not for 20 yrs. and not with your experience.

I hope there is more of your thoughts on this to come. Anyone who has contemplated for so long is not one who simply believes something because they were told by another person, "this is the way it is" and so they believe.
I believe that all the greatest preachers, such as Spurgeon, had the courage to ask God the hard questions and to diligently study His Word for the answers.
I don't agree with all Spurgeon's beliefs but he was a man to be admired and taken seriously. He was a leader.

Blessings
