I have an older, wiser, Pentecostal friend, Verna. Lately, she's been telling me more about her life, past and present. Its a good thing.

So, she has these two friends, beth and lee, who are having serious problems right now. Both are believers. Beth had some health issues and went to a doctor who turned out to be incompetent (he's moved and Verna said he may not have a license in that state now...). So, now, she's soon to undergo an operation because the arteries to her stomach aren't functioning, plus she has fall out from a botched procedure this other doctor did. So please, pray for Beth and her husband, Bob.

Lee is a bit older than Verna. She's a widow. One of her eyes has been seriously damaged, following a fall onto a night stand. Verna said they've done 1 operation that was apparently very involved and painful, and now Lee is recuperating. Personally, I've never had anything worse with my eyes than a scratched cornea when I was 13, and that was painful enough. I can't imagine all this, especially at an older age. Please pray for Lee.

thanks for the replies and prayers. I don't know what's going on with Lee, but Beth is in ICU. It seems her surgery didn't go very well.
 
Am sorry to learn about Beth being in ICU. It could be that the surgery was more complicated than originally projected. I have heard of people going to ICU following surgery because of the very nature and extent of the surgical procedure. Will pray the ICU stay is merely a precaution :wave2

I don't think Beth is going to live much longer. Verna cried a bit on the phone when she told me. She's been weak for a while now, she's older, that one doctor messed her up, plus...well, this latest round of operations hasn't been going well. Everything seems to be shutting down. She's on a ventilator, her kidneys are shutting down...on and on it goes...

God could do a miracle. Barring major divine intervention, though, I don't think Beth will live much longer. Honestly, I've been praying that if its The Lord's will, that He'll take her home as peacefully and painlessly as possible. I don't know if that's being pessimistic or what, but that's what I felt moved to pray for ((as someone who has never met her...)).

No updates on Lee. Verna's doing well, all things considered. The stress of stuff that came before and now this, plus Verna's concern for Beth's husband, Bob, is wearing on her. I'll probably call her soon.

Thanks again for the prayers. :)
