I got a membership with worlds gym two years ago this past march. The contract was supposed to be for two years. They started withdrawing the money from my checking account monthly. In march they continued to withdraw the money and infact increased the payments by $10 a month!
I called and called and finally reached someone about this. They told me that the contract states that it continues monthly after the two years and is an openended account. They would need a 30day written notice for APPROVAL to cancel!!!

I closed my checking account and opened up a new one so they keep sending me bills in the mail that compound with late charges. RIPOFF!!!

They'll be getting no 30day notice to approve, they'll be getting not one red cent. I might go to the gym and picket with a huge sign though.

Don't get a membership with these criminals!! :mad :mad :mad

when i joined the worlds gym here years ago they had a thirty days stop notice, my new gym doesn't have that, thank God

La Fitness does this too. It's not just World's gym. You must send a written letter after your contract ends to stop your membership. Which is silly because when a contract ends, you're not obligated to stay with the gym. But in the contract it says you must MAIL A LETTER to end membership (including payments).

Yeah thats why I train at home!
Took me a few years to buy top stuff, but it's well paid for its self. My sweat, My music, by time! :)
