I voted for every day but its more like almost everyday.

A study with my husband in the morning, and then one alone when he leaves for work. A family study at dinner, and another alone with my husband at night just before sleep. There are also the studies I do with the children myself through-out the day. When I write that down, I see how blessed we are. We pray each time too, but I feel that prayer, and study, are still areas that I (we) lack in. My husband mentioned to me the other day he felt the same way, perhaps God is preparing us for more leading in this area. I hope so. My husband will let me know. I want to be more devoted, but it does seem that for all the Word God graciously gives me that I am still stiff-necked too much of the time...self. The Lord bless you.

Don't you think you might be over doing it a little. :tongue

Every day. I especially enjoy the times where the words jump off the page in the manner that Jesus is sitting right there speaking to me. I don't read much more until I get up, jump around, and shake the goosebumps off of me praising God.

Well, GI...I think this man is blessed to have a woman like this. Would to God I could find someone that was that interested in the Word of the Lord. We take time for everything else under the sun-why not something that has a more eternal blessing than watching studpid sitcoms or that awfully depressing nightly news or other things people do to kill time. Not that all things are bad, those partilcular two just don't interest me personally.

I have a great bible program on the computer I go to a lot but, there's nothing like going to the real thing...the bible itself. I have an old Broadman/Holman Study bible from about 20+ years ago and it is my main source although I have others. I'm always amazed how you can read the same books (Isaiah, Luke, etc) more and more and always gleen something fresh each time you read them.

BTW, lovely...got any sisters? :biggrin

The Lord likes to have first place, before we begin our day in the morning time when things are quiet.
Again, on my way in to town I'll spend time praising Him and praying for others. I communicate with Him in conversation throughout the day.
I don't like strict regimen, I spend time with God because in His company is the abundance of life. I like to go to Him freely.

At night when I go to bed I study and read my bible; I have to see if any of y'all are trying to hoodwink me. :-D

I can't say I read and study my bible everyday, but 5-6 daya a week for sure. In addition to reading my bibles, I have been blessed with an awe-some library of books. I have many original books from the 1800's on to present. Right now I am going through Campbell G. Morgans writings. Truly one of my favs along with Jonathan Edwards. Of corse the bible is my absolute Fav :)

I can’t say I read scripture every day either – more like three or four times per week. I don’t study scripture with study guides or reading plans etc. but allow the Lord to speak to me through whatever passages I read. What thrills me are the times I read something and it is alive in a new way as never before.

The bible is the only book I read (in the context of Christian literature). I used to have a bookcase full of theological & ‘inspirational’ books but got rid of most of them.

What I have found very beneficial is the mp3’s of scripture I have on my mobile phone. It’s great listening when travelling to / from work or in the quiet of the evening when everyone else has gone to bed.

Hi GI,

Honestly, I would like to do more, but this season of my life only allots me what I have mentioned in my last post. Unlike my husband, and some of the others who have posted here, I am in a blessed position that affords me the opportunity to read the Word of God all throughout the day. I haven't always taken advantage of that opportunity in the past, to be honest. I want my children to have the Word presented to them, and that is my responsibility, along with my husband, and I feel very blessed to have that duty. I am not ashamed a the amount of time we spend in the Word at all.

I wonder if you would have asked me the same question if I told you that I read novels, or thrillers, 4 hours a day, or played video games 4 hours a day, or watched tv 5 hours a day, or stayed on line 6 hours, or on the phone 3, etc. something along those lines. We read in our home quite a bit because I home educate, and we also care for a farm. I don't have a lot of time wasters around, and my schedule doesn't allow me to utilize the other things that could be (like the phone)....except when schools out if I let them become a problem. This year I tried to fill that time up with study too, though. I have purposed to make the Word my priority, because only in the past few years have I been given a hunger for the Word to this degree by God...I think it is a great blessing...It's too bad I didn't study more when I was younger an had even more time. I am not boasting, but give Him the glory for both opportunity, and desire. I am 35, and have only just come to this in my life, and I will over due it for as long as the Lord allows. :-D I just pray that God grows me in obedience, and love toward others, during this time. I am similar to mutz in that I use to have shelves full of commentary, but now it's more biographys of other believers, and educational books that are in tune with our families beliefs for the purpose of the education of my children. I get them mostly from the Mennonites, and Amish, because they are good quality teaching, and they are full of the Word. So, even with these the priority remains the same. I hope that never changes, and I hope that my children desire the Word of God earlier in their lives than I did, and I pray that they have eyes to see, ears to hear, and a heart that understands.

D46,

No sister, sorry, and not even any single friends at this point. :sad I was single last year (widowed in 12/03), but my husband snatched me up before anyone else had a chance to....or so he tells me. The longer we are married, though, the more I realize that I am ashamed that I wasn't the one doing the snatching. I think your are right to pray for a wife that desires to be in God's Word, though, and I will make that my prayer for you too when I see your posts on this board. The Lord bless you.

Oh, well...the story of my life. :sad I'm not really looking for a wife anymore although a companion would be nice. Five years is a long time to be alone. I think I could have handled it better at your age than mine, however. Thanks for the remembrance. :)

It was only a joke, lovely. If you enjoy reading the Bible that much everyday then by all means read it. :-D

:-D Sorry, It is hard to know when someone is joking here, even when they have a smiley. The Lord bless you.

Everyday and more.
My wife and I do a study together every evening.
We are reading through the whole Bible together.
I hope you all do the same and more.
