When I was a little boy I remember kids singing to I Wanna Hold Your Hand.......then we moved to a drug/crime ridden poor neighborhood when I was a little older and the older kids were mimicking the drum solo to Inagodadavida.

I used to play that drum solo by Iron Butterfly. Someone older told me I would never be able to play it, so, like a lot of determined kids, I taught myself how to play it, just by listening to the record. Thankfully, the house in which I was raised was large enough so no one got sick & tired of hearing that drum solo over and over and over again!

During the late 60's forward, In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida was one of disc jockeys' favorite songs to play when they 1) needed to eat a meal; 2) bathroom break; 3) talk on the phone for a while. The song was 17 or 18(?) minutes long.

I agree....great great great drum solo, one recognized even by younger generations today.
