Hey Mods,

I have noticed that Yahoo and MSN (maybe some others) have [bots] on the member list. Why are they here, and what are they doing? Are they collecting some sort of information? Planting cookies?

They've always been there, always. This version of forum has a long list of many other bots/spiders that the admins can disable or allow and displays what bots are present. The earlier versions of the forum displayed the bots only as "guests". These bots don't plant anything but gather information used by search engines. When you "search" for something a database is accessed, built by these inquisitive bots, to find what you're looking for. Without the bots there would be no search engines such as Google and the like.

They are always here... now they can be seen publically. :-D Some of them do have a plus side... they gather content info so they can better provide their search engines with this info. Downside is, sometimes they can slow things down a bit by using bandwidth as they multiple search many forums at a time.

added... I posted this not knowing Potluck had posted.

Dale Gribble tells me that the bots are here because they are sending out imperceptible subliminal messages that are only 1/10,000 of a second long thru our monitors that are messages to the alien drone workers and warriors who have infiltrated our society and are about to begin their plan for world conquest. Theyve all been carefully programmed so even THEY dont know that they are alien drone workers and warriors until they get the message thru their monitor that the bots are sending...so it could be any one of us here :o

Well Praise the Lord!
He has led them here so that His people can take them captive by the power of the Sword of the Spirit, :smt065 and bring them before the Almighty for judgment against them. The Lord Jesus Christ came to set the captives free!

God perceives the imperceptible and the subliminal messages simply ricochet off of our shields of faith flinging back into the alien camp, destroying the very enemy of God that fired it off. :smt063
Take that, devil!

2Pe 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

2Cr 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

All thoughts have been taken captive to Christ. YOURS, MINE, & OURS. :smt117

Isa 14:15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, [and] consider thee, [saying, Is] this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
[That] made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; [that] opened not the house of his prisoners?

Isa 14:18-20 All the kings of the nations, [even] all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house. But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, [and as] the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet. Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, [and] slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.

Rev 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Jud 1:4-5 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

Isa 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue [that] shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This [is] the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness [is] of me, saith the LORD.

2Cr 11:13 For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

This message was delivered by follower of Christ <--who is proclaiming the word of Dale Gribble. Sup with that!?!

2Cr 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
2Cr 11:15 Therefore [it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Dale Gribble, like many of his peers, may just be proclaiming what the powers of darkness are up to. The church, who coulda, shoulda, woulda, taken hold of television and used it as a tool to proclaim the gospel ~ decided instead to call it evil and gave it to the enemy to use as a weapon against the church.

We have been reaping that harvest ever since.

The devil likes to play games. Usually, his favorite game is 'keep away', but he has been known to get his message into cartoon characters, sitcoms, stand up comedy and silly posts with silly claims in cyberspace. He can laugh his way into hell, but he won't laugh his way back out.

Cute, warm, and fuzzy toys are proving to be toxic all over these days...

Seems someone might be taking things a bit too seriously ;)
I always take the things of God seriously.

The church has lost a lot of ground to the enemy because he has dazzled us, entertained us, seduced us, and wooed us.

Smurfs are cute and fun and cuddly. but they have also been known to use pentagrams and dabble in witchcraft.

Santa Claus is reported to have supernatural abilities and hands out rewards or punishments based on works. (Not to mention the major distraction from Christ)

I hear that Bruce Almighty is loads of laughs for those who do not take God too seriously. The thought of Jim Carrey ruling the world does not bring a smile to my face.

And, thanks to foundations that were laid many decades ago, unfortunately, there are still many people who have a greater belief in creatures from outer space than they do in the Creator of the Heavens and the earth.

I take things seriously because I grew up with a bunch of witches who delight in chinks in the armor where they can shoot off fiery darts. They love to play word games and see if they can get Christians to agree for it to rain on their own parades.

It is one of my theories that when the rapture happens, that the enemy is going to try to convince the world that the aliens zapped us. I don't like giving him any material to work with.

Throughout my life, I have watched too many people giggle and grin their way into bondage. I pretty much take everything seriously.

I get junk mail in my mail box that coincides with things that I click on and websites that I visit. Don't believe me? See how many post cards you get by looking at apartment listings in your city. Big brother wants to monitor every key stroke. Personally, I have a huge entourage that is incredibly interested in every move I make.

Revelation says that there is a beast. It does not say that I need to help nurture it.

Hahahahhaaaa!

My computer screen has been twitching like crazy ever since the changes have been made to this forum. I've discovered that one can always click on the Stop button to make them quit doing what they are doing!

The software hasnt yet seen a gold release, but its pretty consistant on our boards. I was reading about some 'blinking' that a few folks didnt like that can be turned off in one of the CSS files, I believe, but I dont think it causes any real problems.
For our boards we're using a completely different style, so we dont see it at all (must be turned off already).

I think they got most of the bugs worked out....so hopefully there will be a final release soon.

As always :)
I did find the onslaught against what was very clearly just a humorous post about a supposed BOTS 'conspiracy' a bit much and unnecessary, but c'est la vie.
Ive put the poster on ignore to avoid any future issue where I might simply be playing around and something is taken way out of context and far too seriously, so there wont be a repeat by any means :)

Personally, I found Gabby's post to be of a humorous nature as well. It may have been you who has taken the post more serious than it was intended. Since I don't read minds, I can't say for certain though. ;-)

I think it's sad that Christians feel the need to put other believers on their Ignore List. I really do with Logan would disable the Ignore feature. In the meantime people, please refrain from publicly stating who's on your Ignore List. Thanks. 8-)

I dont like the idea of using the ignore thing too often, but 'out of sight, out of mind'.
Id prefer not seeing anything that is possibly going to cause me to repond in a manner that I shouldnt and end up in trouble.

I have learned to pray before posting. It can work miracles.
