Can I get your opinion on fasting for an extened period??

When God calls want's me to do something, I will start thinking about it, and then He will bring it across my path a few times, and then He will verify it with Scripture. I have heard both good and bad about extended fasting. By extended I mean: 7 days, 21 days, and up to 40 days.

Has anyone had any experiences? I know I talked to a couple of people on a different thread, but then I thought God called me to fast something else (make up, I know that's silly, but He has been dealing with some of my other issues), but I still think he is calling me to do an extended food fast.

What is the difference spiritually, between a water fast and a juice fast?

I've never fasted for an extended period of time or know much about water/juice fasts, so I won't try to give any input there except maybe to check with your doctor first.

But I did want to say that I don't think it is silly to fast something like makeup. If you felt called to go without it, I don't think that is silly at all.
