turnorburn, I left because I was told I was not to preach or teach the Christadephian beliefs, and as I said I didn't come to preach or debate, but if I answer questions on what CDs believe would that not be teaching? So what can I say, as I see it nothing. If I answer questions or correct errors on their beliefs I'm teaching aren't I?

Cloudberry:neutral

Yet, if someone asks, don't they deserve an answer?:yes

So if someone wants to know about a belief that Christadelphians have I can't answer for them ?
I suppose if someone here were to misrepresent what Christadelphians believe, I can't not correct it? That's not allowed?
When anyone is so against hearing or reading about the differing beliefs of others it means that they are insecure in their own beliefs.
I only came back because you left a post that said ....where's Cloudberry. My mistake..
Keep in mind that the bible is against prejudice.
And whosoever will not receive you, when ye go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them.

God bless...take care,

Please remove my membership here. I can't seem to figure out where to do that. thanks

Circumstances recently compelled me to learn about the group (dare I say "cult" :shocked!) called "Christadelphians". Until I was driven to learn about them, I had known very little. I actually work with one, and I wanted to know more about what his church taught. :o

I know there are many heretical philosophies bending Truth into a lie today, but my goodness. In the 1800's you had Jehovah Witness, Mormonism, Christian Science, Seventh Day Adventist, and... Christadelphians. :shocked!:o If we could have skipped that century, things wouldn't look so whack today. Well, that's probably not true, but still... those crazy 1800's. :shame

If others are as unaware of their teachings, they reject:

The Trinity
Jesus existence prior to being born
Jesus is God in the flesh
The Person and Deity of the Holy Spirit
Salvation by Grace through Faith alone
Immortality of the soul
The existence of the fallen angel, Lucifer
The existence of hell

They reject it all! The ironic thing is that they hold to the inerrant Word of God in Scripture, yet they reject the core tenets of the Christian faith! I'm quite sure if they were large enough in numbers, they would have a chapter devoted to them in books such as "Kingdom of the Cults", but Hanegraaff had much bigger fish to fry.

Honestly, I had no idea they were so far removed from core beliefs of our faith. This guy is the first one I've met personally. I think I'll keep my conversations to football for a while and move toward each brick individually in this wall of obstacles. :screwloose

Wow.

I find there are many on this site who have similar belief's or as it were, dis-beliefs.

Thanks for the post.

It is rather ironic, but that is what the Catholic Church teaches - it is POSSIBLE for a non-Catholic to enter Heaven. We see the Catholic Church as the fullness of the faith, but certainly, many non-Catholics have some correct understandings of Who God is and what He desires of men. That includes Muslims and Jews, who are certainly not 100% wrong! Those who love are from God, quite simply put. A person can be considered "invincibly ignorant" about the historical Christ and even the Bible as it truly is (rather than what Mullah Bob says...), love others with all of their heart because the Spirit blows where HE wills (and even writes a Law onto pagans' hearts, if He so chooses, says Paul to the Romans). God calls Whom He wills, and often, that is independent of where he worships at. Being saved is a work of Christ.

The Church is THE instrument in coming to know God, but God is not bound by what happens or the turn of events here. He certainly can and does call people who never even heard of the True Jesus.

We don't pray TO saints in the modern sense of that understanding. We, like Paul, ask for others to pray for us. Paul constantly asks others to pray for him, he is not praying TO the "saints" in Thessalonika, for example. Those who are righteous (say, Mary) can and do pray for us, and their prayers are efficient (says St. James in his epistle). God promised that He would answer such prayers. While it may appear to the uninitiated that we pray to a statue, the statue, like any other creation, is useful in moving our minds to the prototype. In the case of a statue of Jesus, the Incarnate One Himself.

To understand Catholicism, one must understand "sacramentalism", the idea that we come into contact with the invisible God through visible signs. Incense and bells remind us of Divine Liturgy and the offering of our lives to God. Statues remind us of the heroic sacrifices of someone heeding the call of Christ. Yes, it can be abused, like any other notion. However, God contacts men through Creation, whether we like it or not.

If you desire further discussion, I would suggest we go to a 1-1 debate thread, not necessarily to debate, but because we can more freely discuss these issues without interference or highjacking a thread.

And now back to our scheduled program...

Regards

Do you ever read after, Guyon, Fenelon or Molinos?

I see this kind of statement made, and I have to place the palm of my hand on my forehead.

You aren't the arbitrator of salvation. You shouldn't judge.

I don't declare people to be in and out of salvation, and I don't see others doing that either. There is a difference between saying someone is not a Christian based on their "unique" beliefs and judging their salvation. There are core tenets of our faith that form a set of beliefs that we call Christian. I have strong feelings about a person or group that lures other people into a false set of beliefs.

There is one Gospel. That is one less than 2 gospels and 2 less than 3 gospels. Just one true Gospel. Amen!
