Does anyone think it would be a good idea to have a private room each for 'guys' and 'girls' to discuss things that they would rather not be seen by people of the other gender? :) They have this at my other forum and it's a great way to have open discussion about sensitive :oops issues, if people have some degree of comfort that it is all within a same-gender group? :yes it could be a "by request" group and people have to PM the moderator of the group (who should also be of the same gender as the group) to join... as long as this does not replace discussions in the main boards (in my experience, if moderated well, this doesn't seem to be a problem) then i think it could be another great way to encourage and learn from each other : :clap let me know what you think and maybe mods can try it out ??

I've suggested this a few times in the last few months. However, the more interest that is expressed the more likely something will happen.

I think that it would be quite beneficial, might even help some of our younger members feel more comfortable, ie (teens).

yeah deffinately.

it might even be a good idea to do two groups for each gender, one for all ages of that gender and a older one for adult-topic discussions within that gender that may not be appropriate for young guys / girls?

i hope some of the MODS / ADMIN people are reading all these posts :biggrin

I assure you, you have my attention at the very least and I have a habit of spreading the word. This was an idea I initially proposed way back in my first stent of duty here back in 2004-2006. I like the idea, but we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

I think its a great ideal but how will one go about security? what if someone registers says he is a girl just to read in the female only forum. I think there should be something like a minimal post count and/or the user has been here for awhile before they are given permission to post in said forum.

John, The staff can figure out the parameters, but I think the main concern in the past has been interest and activity. If there is interest, then there will generally be activity. Once we establish that, guidelines can be set up. Thanks for the input .

I'm with you all on this too. There are young women in here that need the wisdom/advice of the older women according to the Word, and there are young men who need the wisdom/advice of an older man according to HIS Word.

And I believe we can learn from the young as well, but at least it would be a zone that is private for men to discuss men issues that us women may not want to partiscipate in for personal/private reasons, and the same for us women who may need to discuss things such as breast exams for cancer and a young woman may need to discuss the details of how it's done without the feeling of men eyes on the subject which can be embarrassing for some........like me.

But it would be great that the men have a password, and the women a password to get into the women's section and the men's section without the opposite sex being able to view the others topics, and I believe that either forum shouldn't be breach by the opposite sex, and that goes for forum moderators too. But there diffinately needs to be an area to discuss very private issues to help each other. You never know the advice a male member can give to another male member may know the signs of prostate cancer for example, and could save another brethern from severe consequences in that recognition of symtoms, and that person may only be able to discuss such a private matter in the privacy of a male forum only.

So I vote YES!!!! You go Amielou!!! That a girl!!!!! :heart :adore

Amielou looking around and calling out..............

"Aaaaaaaadmiiiin... ooooh aaaaaadmiiiin...."

Admin, admin.... Where fore art thou admin? Dost thou hearest our cries for gender sanctuary each for their own? Dost thou feeleth our desires and knoweth our needs? Dost thou granteth our wishes?

...(Amielou kneeling and grovelling now)...

Thou art admin and thou art wise, thou art clever and knowleagable. In thine knowledge, cleverness and wisdom wilt thou granteth said request?

Hast thou had enough of mine pleading? (most likely, so i'll stop :lol )
(sorry on an old english kick today :lol )

The two admins that frequent the site don't have much say in whether this gets done. It has been brought to the attention of those higher up the food chain. :lol

Well, with all these "pros", we need at least one "con" :bicker

I don't think there is ANY topic which mature men and women cannot discuss together.

However, I do think there could be a forum in which "under-age" people (however that may be defined) were excluded.

It's not a matter of maturity, it is a matter or what is appropriate or not. Seriously, there are just some things that men and women should not discuss with each other unless they are married.

So what about the topics like Porn or Masturbation which don't just affect YOUNG men. Do you honestly expect a serious discussion about one's issue with these things if he has to be that open with a woman. There are just things which are better discussed between one's own gender.
