Please...please...please....can we have a Christian only general tak / debate sub-forum. For debating. With Christians. Only.

I am getting so tired of battling issues with non-Christians, many of whom have extremely questionable morals and are very active on the boards. And I can only see this getting worse as time goes on.

Please?

6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what
fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what
communion hath light with darkness?

6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he
that believeth with an infidel?

6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are
the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them,
and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my
people.

6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith
the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

Good idea. It would be far easier to restrict people of other religions to purpose made sections then to create a specific area for Christians.

We have Apologetics and Q&A and Other Religions. Why not restrict the non-christians to these areas, 3 is enough.

That would work too.

Theres nothing stopping non-Christians from checking out the topics in the other sub-forums and seeing a post they want to discuss, and quoting that post in a new thread in their own sub-forum where Christians can go and discuss it with them IF they so choose.

Who gets to decide what constitutes a Christian? Do Catholics count? Will there be a vote?

What exactly do Christians have to debate? I understand the urgent need to determine which sin is worse eating bacon or abortion, but why do only Christians get to have all the fun?

There should be a special strait White christian male forum so Gods most knowledgeable and favorite people will finally get the respect they deserve on this forum.

I would say the member decides.

If during debate they break the rules of the TOS as to what constitutes a Christian then an Admin could change their status or just boot them from that sub-forum. Simples.

We want to debate all the stuff we usually debate about without having to come across comments like this:

My version of theology is right and yours is evil. No mine is right yours is evil. No both of you are evil I am right.

It's all nonsense.
And putting people on ignore doesnt work coz they get quoted by other members and threads get derailed.

It is a good idea for those passionate about nit picking theology things. Occasionally a decent topic can get derailed by people posting over and over again off topic as they try to meet common ground on theology differences. It might be good to use for those who like that sort of thing.

BTW- My theology is right, yours is wrong, if only you knew the truth :))

May I present to you Exhibit A:

Agreed.

Lolz...just ONE single Christian only debate sub-forum is all I'm asking.

We don't have one which is surprising.

Can I just say at this point that I think these forums are marvellous and I sicerely thank the owners and the admins and mods for doing what they do.

Just lacking that one eensy weensy thing.

I'm kind of against certain people only sections why I've so far avoided 'women only' groups and the like ...

I'm not TOTALLY against them though, just rather have our faith on display for all and sundry ... couldn't it encourage non believers to lie and say they are? ...

Yeah but as soon as they break the Statement of Faith on the TOS they can get locked out of that sub-forum.

I agree that our faith should be on display as well. And our age.

you know what i was just thinking the same thing about age because that would greatly influence how I would write a response to someone. To a younger person I might explain things in greater detail. To an older person you might be able to mention things from their generation and omit comomon knowledge things.

This is the Statement of Faith of our forums, and of our leadership.

There is one true God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The bible is the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God.

Jesus Christ, God's only Son, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born a virgin birth, lived a sinless life, died an atoning death upon a cross, raised from the dead, and ascended to the right hand of the Father where He will one day return to the earth.

That man is in a lost and depraved condition by nature, and is in need of the new birth by the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit.

In justification by grace through faith, apart from the works of the law.

That salvation comes through Jesus Christ alone, to whom we must respond with repentance, faith, and obedience. Through Christ we come into a right relationship with God, our sins are forgiven, and we receive eternal life.
No matter what denomination. This is something most Christians will agree on. :yes

Just so you know, the team is considering this, but it's unlikely to happen for a few reasons.

1. We've added a few forums in recent history. Adding more, means adding additional moderation responsibilities and a forum like this would require more work than others.

2. A debate forum among Christians? As if we don't have enough argument already within those in the faith? We have the 1-on-1 debate forum, and there's plenty of back & forth in the Apologetics Forum. The same thing happens in the General Forum.

I'm not speaking officially on behalf of the team, but I will say these are obstacles mentioned in our own discussion in response to this suggestion. I'm not saying it won't happen, but it's more likely not to.

What about making another already existing forum/sub forum Christian only?
