While i am on my soap box ...

We the Church/churches took an easy way out and turned our God given responsibilities over to the government.. It is the Church's responsibility to care for the widows and fatherless.. We can take a quick look around and see , plainly see, although the government may be trying to do so it can't... it just can't... We have failed ..
We give our children to the government ,,, Take a read of OT history and see how that worked out for God's people .. We are also God's people should we not be willing to learn from history.. .The American school system is critically ill...

Being old enough to remember some of life in the 50s . Christians stepped back from being involved in local government We handed it over to what? The cry was in part Rapture is coming so who cares.... to Christians just dont belong in government both very sad .. The scriptures tell us to occupy ..
Occupy does not mean do nothing ...

Political corectness is a weapon used to stop people from telling the truth. Political correctness also hates free speech and open opinion. Political correctness is a tyrant. Specifically set up to oppress and usher in authoritarian.
PC control is in force across the gamut. In many churches and Christian spheres certain more liberal politics is harshly reacted to wither same force that liberal institutions react to conservative speech and thought.
Everybody is doin' it.

You may be able to answer this, but I don't know the answer. What is the biblical injunction against the affordable care act?
Ah, so now you are reduced to wanting justification for any law that may be disliked by Christians but that is not what the bible says. The bible says to obey the laws made by those over us but it does not say we cannot work to have those laws changed. There seems to be much about the bible you don't understand. Now, my turn:
Most liberals, even Christian ones, generally favor abortion. What is the biblical justification for that support?

My point is simply in the context of this thread that many Christian circles would ostracize or react to someone in their midst being a proponent of it. That pic control goes on everywhere

You think I would favor murder of children?
Somewhere on this forum site I think I acknowledged that I was happy with the Gorsuch appointment. For that reason.

There is no biblical reason to support abortion. My wife and I suffered through 3 miscarriages and know what we lost.

There are a lot of conversations here. But there I answered your question.
It would not be positive to pigeon hole me.
The question was not intended to be a personal one but as you questioned the conservative christian mindset I returned the question about the liberal christian mindset.

There is no single passage stating "thou shalt not abort".
There is a biblical argument that God recognizes babies in the womb as individuals.
Exodus 22 deals with injuries to a pregnant woman and penalties.
We are told to be fruitful and multiply not destroy babies in the womb.
Trying to stay with what the Bible does say.
I am visiting my wife's parents at the moment. They had their 70'th anniversary this summer. Can't give you more than a few irritating moments.

I thought it was a trick question.

If you want to get a handle on me politically I would be a Whig with a bit of a caution on being too rah rah patriotic. The Henry Clay "American System". Of course more objecting to slavery than they had in just hoping to contain it and allow for a slow death of the peculiar institution.
I think government should provide security. Like Lincoln ok with immigration more than many who didn't like Germans and Irish Catholics coming in.
I think the government should have a hand in improvements to allow transportation and a growing opportunity.
