I don't know any other word to describe them. How should we as Christians view the energy points of our bodies, they appear to be real things. Is the health of those things as important as caring for the rest of our bodies? I have noticed many people around me talking about these as normal things. Christians get acupuncture which is like the same sort of thing.

lol,i was talking to a member of this forum over the phone on this subject. and honestly yes you are right if one does or recieved acupuncture then those come into play.

It might sound as if I'm going to do an about face, because I know I'm on record around here as being OK with Christians doing yoga exercises, and yet I'm also coming down on the side of nixing chakras.

The thing is...one can separate yoga into two different things...physical exercise and mental/spiritual awareness. The physical exercises in yoga have a beneficial effect on the body, as does any exercise. The benefits are scientifically measurable and even common sense: one has better physical health if one exercises the body and yoga provides many excellent exercises. The same holds true for martial arts as well. Now, we as Christians must reject the spiritual aspect of yoga (and martial arts as well), but if one does that, then one has the freedom to do the physical exercises to the profit of better health.

However, I don't think that there is any scientifically proven, valid basis for a belief in chakras that is wholly physical and not metaphysical and spiritual in nature. I can't see how we can separate it out. So, a ban for me on chakras.

Holding to the notion regarding chakras is an open door to the occult in one's life. It has its very roots in spiritualism, and not in anything to do with God.

I am not sure what 6to think of it all not so sure it is occult as in satanic because taht would mean acupuncture is satanic too

i am not saying that chakras should be endorsed but if acupuncture works and its based of the meridians of side unproven or untestable chakras or energy

those trigger points what are they?

they arent nerves and since when does a nerve in the ear ever really affect my left toe?

I dont endorse it but think they are real things. as many don't believe god is real and I try to tell them he is. Thise things probably are real too. This perplexes me because i am convinced of both yet the christian in me warns me to be careful in dealing with things. The same feeling of taking care of the temple of god wonders if tis is another method of taking care of it. ( sorry guys I know that probably is an out there thought for many of you) buy its been on my mind recently.

i will get a hold of a former witch that has been on this forum and knows alot of compartive religions and was into rekii and so on and see what she has to say.

and i will also post some kata videos that deal with training that are two fold(meditation and teaching you control which muscle group to tighten)

I'll say the same thing here as I said on the Kundalini thread...examine it by the light of the Scriptures. There are things that are wholly physical in nature...like an exercise in which one places one's body flat on the floor, puts one's hands, fingertips pointing forward, under one's shoulders and pushes up as far as one can. This stretches out the back muscles and is especially good for my bum hip...it's also a yoga pose. But, I don't practice the metaphysical part of yoga, just the exercise and my body benefits from it.

Chakras...don't see how one can separate the metaphysical from the purely physical. And, I'm not sure that being "real" is such a good thing either. Demons are real, too. Something to keep in mind.

Just hold it to the same scrutiny you would any new theology...does it hold up to examination by Scriptures as something of God?

I don't believe in any of that.

The christian landlord who attempted to evict me as soon as he found out about what I was believed in energy auras. His primary reason for all his hostility was that I apparently have a "Dark evil aura" and my very presence was a spiritual attack on him.

I'm not personally inclined to be warm to these ideas or that you have any special insight all I've seen this idea used for is an excuse to make others lives miserable ¬.¬

in short(i could post her three page txt to me , but not without her permission.

one cant strengthen chakras without getting to false religions. best not even think about it.

does this mean acupuncture is out. In the same way it was developed by one of those. It wasn't developed by science and doctors.

Well It works but it dosen't work the way they claim it dose pushing needles into your skin to release endorphins dose work. Thing is alot of those claims aren't real yet the claim riding on the back of those that do work.

Likewise Leeches are a good treatment if you have a hyper-coagulation disorder but not for all the other stuff people used to use them for back in the dark ages.

One may need to start a thread on a christian forum to asses if the leeches are christian leeches, and if usage of non christian leeches is biblically acceptable on Christians, he he.

i avoid it for good reason as most will tempt me to get back into the new age/witchcraft thing.
I don't like acupuncture as I was not born to be a pin cushion. Witchcraft stuff is disgusting the thought of it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up It goes against everything I believe in as a christain, yeah avoid it. New age stuff iIthink is kind of amusing I don't take it very seriously, it always reminds me of a funny hippy thing. Those chakra things are real i wish there was a christian method of dealing with it, or at least a less eastern spiritual method.

On the strength of that i am off to light some incense lol

I think the key here is yes we can admit these things are real. Witchcraft can be real if one goes deep enough. Anything in the occult can be real if one delves deep enough. But what we have to distinguish is why we would want to tap into our individual energies rather than the most powerful energy of all, the Holy Spirit. Or why would we want to seek powers that the new age offers rather than the power God offers. If we find ourselves being drawn more to these outside interests than to the Word of God and the power He offers, then this should be a red flag that we are getting off the right path. Moreoever, if you are feeling "yet the christian in me warns me to be careful in dealing with things.", I would say that is the Holy Spirit speaking to you and convicting you. Listen to Him. With God we have the power to move mountains. This is the truth declared in the Bible. With God we have angels around us to protect us. With God, He can separate a sea and let us walk across. He can shake a prison and let us walk out. He can heal the sick and raise the dead to life. With powers like this, we don`t have to search for other sources of power. All the power we need is in Him. This is the power we need to focus on tapping into.

What i mean is I am into god and try to fil with the spirit daily.I also eat well and exercise daily too ( well that's the plan anyway) because I know this is good for my body. Reading the bible wont make my body fit. I know those energy points are real things and are parts of us and wondered if they need maintenance too.

The thing about occult people use that term so much interchangeably with things.

The word occult comes from the Latin word occultus (clandestine, hidden, secret), referring to "knowledge of the hidden".[1] In the medical sense it is used to refer to a structure or process that is hidden, e.g. an "occult bleed"[2] may be one detected indirectly by the presence of otherwise unexplained anaemia.
The word has many uses in the English language, popularly meaning "knowledge of the paranormal", as opposed to "knowledge of the measurable",[3][4] usually referred to as science. The term is sometimes popularly taken to mean "knowledge meant only for certain people" or "knowledge that must be kept hidden", but for most practicing occultists it is simply the study of a deeper spiritual reality that extends beyond pure reason and the physical sciences.[5] The terms esoteric and arcane can have a very similar meaning, and the three terms are often interchangeable.[6][7]
The term occult is also used as a label given to a number of magical organizations or orders, the teachings and practices taught by them, and to a large body of current and historical literature and spiritual philosophy related to this subject .

see what I mean parts of my body have nothing to do with magic or evil practice. epilepsy was once diagnosed as an evil spirit possession.

This only interests me because I have seen it around people and the curiosity follows, and makes me wonder why what god made as part of our bodies could possibly be labeled as evil in any way. Gossiping is a far worse evil that comes from a human because it destroys many peoples lives not just your own. That makes god madbut gets tolerated in christian circles.
