All the topics on atheist ads on buses and glbt issues has got me to wondering: Is it harder to be a witness for Christ today than it ever was before?

I think about Asia Minor in the time of the early Church. The peoples of those countries and cities practiced many immoral things even in the name of worshipping their gods. They were very affluent yet very brutal in many ways. The Church itself was illegal so persecution of it was encouraged. And yet the Church flourished.

Well, the Church doesn't seem to be flourishing today. Here in America, over 75% of people say that they are Christian and yet look at us. We're kind of a mess folks. And, we just elected a guy to office that seems to be going against strongly held Christian principles.

What's up?

I suppose that depends on where you're located. For me, sitting in the middle of America, I'm not persecuted for my faith (for now) and I have access to witness around the world through the Internet. That alone is a true new blessing!

But where the Internet can be a blessing, it can also be a hindrance. There is so much anti-Christian and atheist propaganda prevalent on the Internet that it is seeping into our homes, schools, churches, neighborhoods, etc. I think, as Christians, we must be persistent in prayer that the Lord will continue to use the Internet tool to reach millions of individuals. And we must do our part to shine brighter than the anti-truth messengers.

I believe the question should be, "Why aren't we looking up?" ^ ^ ^

Twice in the last 24 hour (make it three now, LOL) I used the Biblical concept of self judgment and pointed out that judgment first starts with oneself.

1 Cor 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

I'm not talking about the everyday decision we must make as parents, employers, leaders, administrators ( :tongue ), etc. You all know the judging of one's own heart is what I'm referring to.

I think Dora would agree that we all need to sit down and read Luke 10:30-36. It all begins with love; love of God and neighbor and until we get that right, many of us won't even be able to see what's wrong with God's ekklesia.

It may or may not be harder to witness, but it sure is hard to bust that message through all the junk that has set in to people's minds.

I think that God is using these times so that the sin that is in the hearts of men can be revealed. Our nation has legalized sin in many forms, because our culture has been influenced by postmodernism relativism. An unchangeable timeless God who has given us absolute truth has been rejected. Jesus' words, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life." are offensive. About five years ago, I read an article in VOM magazine where a question was posed to missionary in China. (I believe it was China) He was asked how the church could grow and be such a light when the people were putting their lives at risk when they received Christ. The man responded with a question of his own. How could people in the United States come to Christ when sin, like a buffet, was spread out before them. (I am paraphrasing here.)

For the believer in the United States, it really is a time to self-examine, repent if needed, look to God for direction, and just follow Him in love and obedience so that we can be a beacon of God's love and truth in a Nation that is bent on calling good evil and evil good. He has provided a Way for us with His Son, and now it's about living a life that glorifies God through good works and upholding the truth daily in a place that has been given over to sin and deceit. Noah, out of love and obedience, preached and worked until the day the rains came, and the people mocked. We need to follow his example, and we need to raise our children (physical and spiritual) to do the same so that each generation will have a light.

Today's Christianity is no different then the REST of religions today. True Christianity is a very few and limited group today. Once the churches calling themselves Christian Churches stop walking as the world does they will become less popular We all know that wont happen because that would take away their golden calf they have called Mamon.

If you believe we are in the end-times then what we are seeing makes perfect sense because we are told this is how it will be in scripture.

We should be disconnected from this world to the point that we long for Jesus' coming, yet desire to do His will while we're here. :thumb :salute
