I have 2 more finals left and then i don't even have to think about college for a month! its so great. i'll miss all my friends but i got a truck and we can still hang out if i get too lonely. I'm sooo sick of finals and studying and classes! Anybody else want to share your opinion on this blessed time of the year for me?

Christmas is such a wonderful time of year. I am so glad that we have a break for a whole month. I cant wait to spend time with my family at christmas. May God bless all of you and have a great holiday

I pray that us Christians remember what Christmas is really all about...the birth of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. :biggrin

Since 2 of my classes are online, I really haven't made many friends. Although, I only go part time. I have made one friend in PSY and few online friends. I'm just ready for a break of not having to worry about papers, tests, studying...

What I love about this time of year is the excitement that I see in my kids faces. This is also a time of year that I give a lot of my time and I have given more time volunteering that I EVER have. Even though it's tiring, it's a WONDERFUL feeling knowing that I'm giving. I'm just trying my hardest to get my children to understand that giving is just as rewarding as receiving.

Yes, lets not forget to spend time with God this christmas season. I hope all of your spiritual lives will be enhanced during this time of the year.
Nikki, may God bless your selfless nature and all you do for the needy. I'm sure your kids will turn out great and i hope i can be as good of a parent some day.

What a blessing it is to see a christian giving thereself for God. God bless you nikki.

Christmas is great for me, because I get to spend a month at home. :-D I love Georgia, but it's not quite home yet.

Awwwww....thank you! You all are so sweet! It's almost like an addiction. When I see the smiles on the faces of the people that I'm doing for, it is SUCH a reward!

Parenting is HARD. I'll tell you that. There are days that I feel like a complete failure. I posted a prayer request and I didn't mention what it was about. Well, I had had a TERRIBLE day with my 5 year old. She acted so bad in a store that they had to get security back to see what was going on. She's thrown tantrums before, but I have NEVER seen anything like what she was doing. I came home and cried and cried and cried. I felt like such a failure.

But the next day was better and I have a better understanding as to why she may have lost all control. She was getting sick. Still not an excuse if you ask me, but knowing there was possibly a reason made me feel better. Kids are wonderful...pain in the rear ends that they can be and all. I'm sure you will be a truly wonderful dad one day! God Bless you too!

Gosh, I'm gonna get a big head!

It's a good feeling and the more I do for others, the better I feel. I think this was something missing in my life. I needed to do something besides sit at home and go to school. School has filled a tremendous void in my life, but volunteering has just about filled that in completely. The final thing in life will be graduating. :o

hey bubba! i'm so excited that ur coming home! i'm sure u wont be lonely with me and chris and everybody around! lol c ya fri!

Well today I finished my last final, so I'm free until January. Like all of you said I can use a break, and I'm happy that I can now truly enjoy Christmas. It's probably going to be weird for a couple of days since I won't have to reach for a book or pen or paper.

It's probably my favorite time of year, for the giving more than receiving, which apparently Nikki is a human embodiment of, the giving spirit. ^_^ (Hope your little girl feels better) But that's what God and Christmas is all about, love and caring for others. With that said, while I'm glad that I have the means and opportunity for school, I'm happy that it's over for now, so happy. And I hope that all of you have a safe and happy trip home, and happy holidays.

I love Christmas. I am so excited about going home and being with my wonderful family. I hope everyone has a safe and fun Christmas.

Just remember Jesus is the reason for the season. :biggrin

Where do your parents live? Far? Have a safe trip if you'll be driving or flying! And enjoy your Christmas!!!

Well from Brewton Parker, Mount Vernon Georgia, to where my parent (I only have a father my mother passed away my senior year of high school) lives about 3 hours driving time. As for my sister and her husband...I think 30 or 40 minutes away from my parent.

Christmas for me is bittersweet. Praise God I am no longer blinded by the things of the world. Last year was so terrible for me that I honestly can't even remember it. I think that's God's way of helping me forget about my painful past. I do have a wonderful family who loves Christmas and the Holiday season, so I'm blessed in that capacity. We've decided this year, instead of buying into all the commercialized hype, we're handmaking presents. I'm doing some crocheted things like shawls, hats, and scarves and will bake some goodies for my grandparents. I think that helps me to remember the Holiday season isn't about being depressed over not having enough money to buy presents at the mall, but sharing the season of Christ's birth with my family.

That's wonderful! I think that handmade gifts are so much more meaningful than store bought ones. I made my mom a love box for her birthday and she still cries when she talks about it. She said it's the most meaningful gift she's ever gotten in her life. I just got a small box and decorated it. Then I wrote down on tiny slips of paper (about the size you would pull out of a fortune cookie) reasons why I love her, special memories, etc. Each day, she gets to pull ONE love note. There are about enough notes for 3 months. I also had my sister, dad and other family members email me "love notes" for her so that I could add them to her love box.
