This is one of the best Cinderella stories ever filmed and one of the best Walt Disney Movies ever created.
Pure family film making magic, as the magical yet moral spirit of "Disney" is captured to a very high degree in this movie.
Its a well written script, the acting is inspired, the film has a dazzlingly authentic look that is beautifully edited, and the director understood the movie has to look and feel "enchanted", and executes this amazingly well.
Lilly James as Cinderella captures the essence of the idea of the goodness of Cinderella and is spectacular. Supporting her are Kate Blanchett as the harsh Stepmother and Helena Bonham Carter as The Fairy Godmother.
Kenneth Branagh directs.
Wonderful movie.
If you like this type of fantasy "fairy tale " stuff, such as the 2014 Disney file "Maleficent", then you'll like the Cinderella movie even more as its a much better movie overall.

I assisted at a free showing for under-privileged kids of this movie, and it was also the first time I had seen it. In agreement, the movie was very well done.

Helena Bonham-Carter as the fairy godmother was great. She had one of the best lines in the movie concerning how she always seemed to have problems with shoes (hence, the glass slipper).

I originally had no idea that Cate Blanchett or Helen Bonham-Carter were in this movie as i knew nothing about it except that it was yet one more Cinderella movie.
I had not seen previews, so, i was just hoping the movie would not feel like a waste of the $1.50 i gave to Redbox.
What a pleasant surprise to have really really enjoyed this "Disney" movie.
The biggest surprise for me in it was (unknown) Lily James as Cinderella, as she really fleshed out the part with an ultra fine performance.
Im always looking for good clean movies to add to my modest collection, and also to give as gifts, so, this one qualifies as both good and clean.

I've not been much of a fan of Cate Blanchett; her acting to me seems a bit stiff. Doesn't seem to matter what role it is.

Helena Bonham-Carter enjoys tackling roles that are out of the ordinary. And she typically makes quite the fashion statement on the Red Carpet (usually worst dress list!).

I didn't know of Lily James, but she certainly did an excellent job in the role of Cinderella.

It was fun to watch the expressions on the children's faces as they watched the movie. And when the movie was over, almost every one of those children helped each other to pick up cups, empty popcorn bags and napkins. The over-all kindness being shown by the children was endearing, and offered promise that they would take the feeling of kindness back to their homes and neighborhoods.

I LOVED this movie!

I just watched it again:)

When i saw it a few days ago, i rented the DVD and, like you, i just loved this movie.
So, i thought i would see it again on Blu-ray, and did, and it was again just a fantastic movie.
