I'm pretty sure that all I have is a cold right now, but how can I tell the two apart? I just got my flu vaccine a few months ago so it's sort of difficult to tell since if I do have the flu, it's a very tame version of it.

Thanks for the link Michael74, the constant chills that I have been getting is what has been worrying me the most and I'm really not sure why I have only been getting occasional coughing and runny nose but when I do get it's bad. I have also been sick to my stomach as well. Right about now it might be a good idea to get my temperature taken and see if I need to schedule a doctor visit.

You also have to realize that flu vaccines are not all that effective. Personally, I have never had a flu shot. When I do feel a cold, or flu coming on, I start upping my intake of vitamin C and Zinc. You can also take small amounts of colloidal silver. Stay away from over the counter solutions like nyquil, robuttusin, and the like. They simply mask the symptoms and make it harder for your immune system to battle whatever it is you have.

Well I think the chills might have been due to the fact that I was cold because of the fact that I put on a hoodie and I don't seem to have them anymore. Scratch that, I still have them just not as much. Nyquil and Dayquil help me though. :) Besides they help fight away my fever.

The weirdest thing for me though is the fact that I have an occasional runny nose and the only time I'm really actually coughing hard is during and after meals.

How can you tell the difference between a cold and the flu?
Because colds and flu share many symptoms, it can be difficult (or even impossible) to tell the difference between them based on symptoms alone. Special tests that usually must be done within the first few days of illness can tell if a person has the flu.

Thank you bu Christ_empowered already gave me the link to this. Come to think of it though, now I'm not sure whether or not this is a cold or just sinus issues due to my occasional horrible coughing (that seems to get worse while eating) and occasional runny nose. :thinking

In one town in Norway*, far far away, once upon a time,
they got sick every year around the same time - near the beginning of cold weather/ winter.
This went on for decades without anyone figuring out
that just before they 'all' (most) got sick,
a shipment of one particular food , was delivered (yes, by ship),
and they 'all' (most) liked it and ate it, year after year.

Before I disclose the miracle of them not getting sick any more,
anyone care to try to guess why they got sick around the same time every year ?
(this is for fun, truth, joy, life, may be a revelation to many people who don't know yet)

*re Norway. It might have been a neighboring country - it was one town located on a fiord though.

Lutefisk!? :lol

Good ? guess.......
Most people living there and those who heard of the annual rash of illness in the population there
wrongly thought it
was due to the cold weather .....
