To the contrary. The Arabic masjid, means temple place of worship.
A "temple" is a building in which the presence of the deity resides.

It is: "a building devoted to the worship, or regarded as the dwelling place, of a god or gods or other objects of religious reverence."

Almost any place can be a "place of worship."

Yes. A place of worship.

Christians do believe that God dwells in believers. We are the Temple of the living God.
1Co 3:16
Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
1Co 6:19
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

In the Temple of Jerusalem in the 1st century AD, the presence of the Lord was above the mercy seat between the wings of the cherubim. (That is, if the Ark was still there in the 1st century. ...)
Exo 25:22
And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, about everything which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel.

The thread is about the destruction of the temple in Jerusalem in 70 AD and its replacement by the "temple" which is the body of Christ; the Church.

Acts 17 informs the Christian that God does not reside in temples.
And 1Co 3:16 (Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?) and 1Co 6:19
(Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?) tells us that God, the Holy Spirit, dwells within the believer.
And the apostle John informs us that the Father and the Son also dwell within the believer.
Jhn 17:22-23 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

So, according to scripture, God actually does dwell in a "temple." :)
The temple is the Church, the Body of Christ.

Thus says the Lord:
Heaven is My throne, And earth is My footstool.
Where is the house that you will build Me?
And where is the place of My rest?"

What do you want us to understand by posting Isa 66:1?

Does Isaiah 66:1 make 1Co 3:16 and 1Co 6:19 and Jhn 17:22-23 all wrong?

Or did you meant to point out something else?

:confused :shrug
Speaks for itself, what could I add to ''Thus says the Lord''

Correct. God is indwelling his own. He is not found in structures built by man.
