The Honolulu blue and silver have successfully turned this ship around, and the rest of the league is now seeing this ships ugly side. As I kick off my regular update on what's happening with the Lions, I am very excited to watch this team manhandle many on their schedule.

This week, we learned something interesting. Tom Brady spent more hours studying Suh, than he has on any other player in the last 2 years. This is before Nick Fairley from Auburn joins Suh on the line. They have already been renting space in the heads of opposing quarterbacks. Suh (The House of Spears) and the rest of this defense have gotten into the heads of the quarterbacks they will be facing. That is good news. ESPN said the Lions might well be the most heavily fined team in the NFL this year, all thanks to the D-Line. Another writer claimed that Suh is a dirty player. That is spectacular. Keep righting those stories, and keep filling those QB's with worry.

This is not your daddy's Detroit Lions. :thumbsup

Sorry to disappoint you, Mike, but this is the year of the Cardinals.

And if they can't do it, the Bears will.

Or the Colts.

Maybe the 49ers.

All I'm interested at this time is winning the division and making the play-offs. The Bears will not be a factor in this. They will not handle Detroit's defense. :)

I have no problem with the Detroit Lions, as long as my beloved Philadelphia Eagles win the Super Bowl.

The Lions and Eagles are wonderful teams. I cannot say enough good things about them.

But the Cardinals will win the Super Bowl.

Or the Bears.

1957... 1957!!

How long we have suffered! Step one, make the play-offs. Step two, get to the Superbowl. Step three, atone for horrible football for the past 55 years and bring home the Vince Lombardi Trophy!!

You think you've got it bad. My Cardinals, who have always been my favorite team, haven't won a championship since 1947.

For the second week in a row, the Detroit Lions have won. By 45 points!

Folks, it might take the Philadelphia Eagles to stop this team.

Hehe. Thanks for the vote of confidence, Vince. But it was the Chiefs who got pummeled by the Bills last week, and they appeared to be on the verge of a nervous breakdown all game long.

The next two weeks will be more challenging against the Vikings and Cowboys away.

Still, as a life-long Lions fan, it was nice to take our frustrations out for a day.

This IS looking like a different Lions team! :thumbsup

The world is coming to an end! The Detroit Lions were losing 20-0 at halftime, and they won!

It's their first 3-0 start since 1980, and the first time they beat the Minnesota Vikings in the Vikings' stadium since 1997.

Fans of other teams have no idea what this hope means to Lions fans. We are starting to feel what fans of other teams have felt while we were either an afterthought or a running joke. We finally feel like a legitimate player in the NFL. We've watched in frustration as expansion teams propelled their way to the elite, but I think our time has finally arrived.

Next up is the Cowboys, and they look very beatable. After that, we host our first Monday Night Football game in a very long time, and there is NO WAY we will lose to the Bears at home on Monday night. No way. If they beat the Cowboys, they will be 4-0 and 5-0 is then a lock.

Forward down the field
A charging team that will not yield
And when the blue and silver wave
Stand and cheer the brave, rah! rah! rah!

Go hard win the game
With honor you will keep your fame
Down the field and gain
A Lions victory!

Goooooooo Lions!

The Cowboys? You're playing the Cowboys this Sunday? My two favorite teams are the Eagles and whoever is playing against the Cowboys.

I will agree that the Lions do look good this year.

That said, they still have my beloved Packers to face and the Packers will take the NFC north and be back in the Superbowl again making two in a row. :clap

I am glad to see the lions turn it around though since I love watching the Vikings and Bears lose.:yes

Is it a sin to pray for a tornado to hit the playing field?

They may seem harmless and loveable to Packer fans now, but that will change when they emerge as a real threat. Don't forget what happened at Ford Field last year. We knocked out your beloved golden child (who wasn't performing anyway) and sent them "packing" with an L" :yes

What do you call a team that is losing by 24 points and then wins by 3 points?

1) A team that is 4-0 right now.
2) A team that has shamed and disgraced the Dallas Cowboys. Their previous record for a botched game was in 1985 when they led by 21 points and lost.
3) A team that is making a comeback that boggles the mind.
4) The Detroit Lions.
5) All of the above.

Hint: It's okay. Go ahead and pick any of them.

Nice, Vince!

It gives me so much satisfaction to stick the dagger in them at the end and watch the infighting ensue. The Cowboys are to the NFL what the Yankees are to MLB. Self-endowed "America's Team" with a superiority complex. And nice that the Tigers beat the Yankees in New York on the same day. Very nice!

But back to football. I loved the look on the faces of coach Ryan and all the fans as the Cowboy's record-setting meltdown was being realized. Two pick-6's in consecutive drives will do that to ya. Oh, and watching Calvin Johnson, who he said would be the third best receiver on the Cowboy's offense, carve up the defense in the end zone will do that too! :yes

Now, if the Lions will just show up in the first quarter, that will really be nice. They WILL destroy Chicago at home Monday night for all the world to see and be 5-0!

Looming large on the horizon is the Lions/Packers game on Thanksgiving Day. Finally, the nation will have great football to watch while enjoying their holiday!

The sooner NFL fans come to realize that this isn't your father's Detroit Lions, probably the better. My Lions are now 5-0 after a fantastic showing on Monday Night Football last night. The crowd was amazing, keeping the volume intense from the kick-off until the end of the 4th quarter. I've never seen Ford Field so loud! And the team didn't let us down.

This year or not, when the Lions win their first Super Bowl, southeast Michigan will be insane! I've seen MLB, NBA and NHL championships in my adult life, but this is a football town at heart. And we've been starved of NFL caliber football since before I was born. We beat the Cowboys to go to the NFC Championship in the '90s, but everyone knew the conference was down and we were over-achieving. This is different. Our talent is dictating our success, and there's no telling what this organization will do this year and beyond.

Next up... San Francisco!! Forward down the field! :)
