The best way to conquer the enemy is to know he is conquered already. We have the victory through Jesus.

We need to know how to fight him, and that is through the Word of God!

Exposing him for the lier he is and exposing all his deceptive scemes and ways.

Can anyone list he devil's devices? Lets expose him and bring him under, stamp him to the ground and give him a real bloody nose.

I've asked others without success now I will ask you. Using your bible can you show me anywhere in the bible where Satan is guilty of anything other than temptation? Can you show me anywhere in the bible where Satan killed anyone as compared to God. Reading over Genesis can you tell me WHO did the lying? Didn't the events unfold exactly as Satan said it would in the garden. God said "in that day" you would surly die if you ate the forbidden fruit. They didn't die and if I recall correctly Adam lived to the ripe old age of 930 years. Satan said that you would not die because if you ate of the forbidden fruit you would become like Gods. Well read on and that is exactly what happened. Now don't bother responding that in effect they really did die because they weren't going to live forever etc. I don't buy the explanation because that is not what God said. Why did Adam and Eve become like Gods and God even complained about it. That was the real concern of God. Go read it for yourself.

Oh reznworks, common now, look deeper adam and eve died spiritually, they, by breaking the law cut themselves off from the presence of God. this is why we are so glad that Jesus came to restore that for us.

Sin cuts us off from God, But through Jesus we can once again have a relationship with God.

You have to take the whole bible into context here.

I thought I asked you not to bring this point up as I already addressed it. It doesn't hold water as I said. God stated what would happen if they ate of the fruit and implied that immediate death awaited them. Do you think that God was that uninformed that he didn't know that if they ate of the forbidden fruit that they would become like Gods? What was God afraid of? Why didn't he just tell them that if you ate of the fruit you would become like us and then you would be cut off from us. HMMM that doesn't make any sense does it. Could it be that God really was afraid of man becoming like them?

Sin cuts us off from God, But through Jesus we can once again have a relationship with God.
Could you explain that so it makes sense to me? When Jesus paid the price to whom was the price paid? I mean if I go to the store to buy something I pay the price of cash to the owner who demands it. In the case of Jesus dying for my sins who demanded the death of Jesus. It can only be one of two characters, either God or Satan demanded the death of Jesus. So how does his death make things right? Why couldn't God just make it right ? In essence God had to kill himself to appease himself so that he would not have to roast us forever in an ever burning hell. I just don't get how that makes any sense whatsoever.

You have to take the whole bible into context here.

John 8:44
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

In the OT, Satan was just an angel with the mandate to find fault with mankind. In the NT, he was turned into the villian.

Satan was not the serpent in the garden. That serpent was cursed to always crawl on its belly. Satan does not crawl on his belly so it was not him. Or God does not have the power to curse Satan.

The Devil's device... Which one...
How about doubt? Wanna stomp Satan to the ground? Never doubt God's plan. Never doubt God's awsome glory and power. Never doubt what Jesus did on the cross for everyone... Even the aethist.
Whisper...
Do you often hear the whisperer? You know, the one that tells you to take a quick peak... Nobody will know... It's only a little bad, there are things that are much worse... shhh, quite, we can hide it...
Hate.
Never, never sin in your hatred and try to justify it. Being angry is ok, but don't sin because of it...
Love your enemy...
Want to really give Satan a fat lip? Love with compassion the ones that persecute you...

Great topic Dee, and fantastic posts!! You truly have Jesus in your heart and it shows!

God could easily overcome doubt if that is Satan's main weapon. He could do something simple such as write His name in the stars or appear on a talk show.

At least Allah takes the time to write his name on stuff. http://www.islamcan.com/miracles/index.shtml ;

Yes he could have... But he loved us enough to give us our own free will. Something you should be thankful for, lest we be puppets on a sting.

If that was such a gift, then why did He not also give that same freedom to every person He interacted with in the OT? He lit fires for the priests of Ba'al. He talked to Adam, Eve, and Elijah. He wrestled with Jacob and chased Abraham around. Why did He not also give these people the free will to doubt His existance?

Either knowing He exists is a good thing or bad. Which is it?

pardon. since when do we have victory. Christ beat him. Your not christ.
He wont be gone if we dont serve God and obey him to the best of our abilities. he will be gone in a short time when the 1000year empire begins.

Without Jesus, we don't have victory, but through Jesus we have the ability to overcome evil... It is only through Jesus Christ that i can chase the devil away. I cannot do it on my own....

Read properly Joeri,, It is not my victory, but Jesus gave us something too, and that is HIs wonderful Name! through Him all things are possible!

You have to take the whole bible into context here.

Here goes:

let me give you a parable:

In the old days, they would stone you , hang you , ext to death if you believed in something or did something wrong or cought doing something that the law didn't accept.

so now this man stole a piece of bread, as he was starving, then he got cought. he was devastated, he was going to die, his wife and kids were crying for him, there was no escape.

Then this man sees what is going on and says to the authorities, Let me take the place of this mans wrong doing, i shall die for him as he has family and i don't, i will take his place, so set this man free!

This is what Jesus did, he didn't have to do it for us, but he loved us so much he was willing to die for us. we were wrong, he was free from sin, yet he paid the price for us! He set us free and went through enormous pain just for us, for You!

He did it for You! We would have paid the price for being sinners to God, a just and perfect God, yet God himself loved us so much that he paid the price for us, someone free of sin, became sin for Us, for YOu!

The devil is a master acuser, he wants us damned along with him, but he has lost the battle, because Jesus, through his sacrifice showed us how perfect his righteousness is! We have Jesus who defends us, protects us, He wants us to live a life of joy, everlasting. Every wrong doing we have done, Jesus washes it away(those who believe in HIm). In one way he is like our advocate!

Where in the Bible does it say that?
Revelations. then after the 1000 years he will be let go for a short time and the countries will wage war against christ, and then All will be cleansed and the 8th eternal day of history (1000 yr a day) begins... a new earth and a new heaven.

Try to imagine how silly this story looks. Some authority would kill an innocent and let a guilty man go?

The Jesus sacrifice makes no sense:

1) There was no sacrifice. Jesus was back after 3 days. So it would be equivalent to someone who was knocked out for 3 days.

2) How does spending a short time in hell make up for the infinite amount of time that someone else has to pay?

3) Why didn't God just let Jesus die of old age for his resurrection? Why did it have to be a violent death?

4) Since Yaweh was against human sacrafice, He would not have accepted such an offering. Even if He would have, it would have to be done by a Levitical priest and Jesus was not one. (The way the Bible tries to get around it is by saying Jesus was like a previous king that could do priest functions. However, God made a law after that to make such a thing illegal.)

5) If God wanted to forgive human sin, why not do it right after Adam and Eve sinned?

6) If God is all powerful, He could have just snapped His fingers instead of involve some ritualistic sacrifice.

7) Makes no sense that Jesus did not die for the nonbelievers. Since that made up most of the world before Christianity and for a long time, much of the world after.

8) It is not a gift if you have to do something for it.

have you ever watched passion of the Christ?

2) How does spending a short time in hell make up for the infinite amount of time that someone else has to pay?

Again, watch passion of the Christ

3) Why didn't God just let Jesus die of old age for his resurrection? Why did it have to be a violent death?

Otherwise we would have had to go through enormous torture ourselves, again, watch passion of the Christ

It is to see who will believe in Jesus and who won't....

It is written that no one goes to the father but by Jesus!

8) It is not a gift if you have to do something for it.

Shame quath! you really don't see that it is a gift...

here's a little something: if your child wants to touch a hot stove, will you not say no son, do not touch that, it is for your own protection!

same goes for the law, it is made to protect us, it is for man, not for God.. he does it that we may have a properous life, whether we choose to follow it, it is our choice!!!!! ANd the joy we have in Christ just makes us naturally want that!
