  • The Gospel of Jesus Christ

Heard of "The Gospel"? Want to know more?

There is salvation in no other, for there is not another name under heaven having been given among men, by which it behooves us to be saved."

Do you agree, or disagree?

Does a genuine believer who stops believing and dies in that unbelief remain saved?

But, yes, to get the blood atonement applied you have something to do, which is to let God give it to you by your Faith.
However, to keep it, there is nothing you do, as this responsibility has been given to the One who SAVES.
No, you can not deceive me into ignoring plain scripture...

"1Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, 2by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain." (1 Corinthains 15:1-2 NASB)

You are the one that has to make the plain words of the passage above not really mean what they so plainly say. I'd like to believe you are just honestly mislead and indoctrinated by this false teaching of OSAS that has taken over the Protestant church...but I don't know sometimes.

No, not at all, as you cant save yourself by works.
Doing your very best is to be the best disciple you can be, subsequent to your salvation.
Doing your very best, is to strive to do this because you are already saved and want to please the one who saved you that you call "Abba
As a disciple , you please the Lord and Father God when you do your very best to represent them as a "Son".

Striving to do your very best is not found in the scriptures.

Overcoming, by your present faith is.

Those who overcome will not be blotted out of the book of life.

Yes, its a finished Salvation, you dont add anything to it like your works or commandment keeping.
What you do is receive it by Faith., and once received your salvation is Finished for eternity.

Do you any scriptures to validate this opinion of yours that says..,

once received your salvation is Finished for eternity.

:lol That's funny.
I mean it's really funny how you folks are hearing the argument.
Somehow trusting God when he said have faith and you'll be justified is me trying to justify myself. Wow. The church has fallen a long way from the truth.

Its not me that is teaching that if i keep believing then i keep being saved.
That is your work, JB.
And the reason you keep talking over and over and over about faith saving you then you have to keep believing, is because you are trusting in faith, followed by "keep believing", instead of trusting in Christ alone to save you and keep you saved.

Its like this.
You are trusting in "keep believing" to "continue being saved".....whereas your answer should be, "im trusting in Christ alone to save me and keep me saved", and nothing else.
Stop trusting in your faith., as this is not the gospel.

Are people that don't have faith in Him saved?

Look at the Greek verb tenses in 1 Corinthians 15:1-2. Then you will know that Paul is saying 'you are presently saved if you are presently holding fast the word'. Then you'll see it's certainly not my work that keeps me saved, it's my present holding fast of the word. I challenge you to honestly examine the verb tenses used. If you still insist it's not saying we are presently saved if we are presently believing then I have no choice but to conclude that you are not simply honestly and naively deceived by OSAS doctrine.

Striving to do your very best...... is to "present your body a living sacrifice and to be Holy as i am Holy, saith God".
Same idea., different vocabulary.
And you didnt list what you are to overcome to be saved?.....but dont list it, as that is "another gospel".
Dont go there.
And also, salvation is a gift based on what Christ did for you, and not you overcoming anything.
Gotta be careful with that "another gospel" stuff you are spewing out., JLB

Born again is not to be continued by faith.
Its a one time, done deal.....Get real.
Even Paul knows that salvation and the new birth happened at the same time, and are not continued by your efforts to keep believing or twisting scriptures..

Get a concordance and an explanation of Greek verb tenses and then you will see how terribly wrong you have been.

Here, I'll save you the trouble of finding the resources:
https://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/1co/15/1/t_conc_1077002 (click to expand verse 2)
http://ezraproject.com/id27.html (learn about Greek present tense here)

No lying about what you find out. It's impossible to refute what I've provided. You will have no choice, if you're honest, to concede and admit that you have been wrong.

I agree with your translation.
But where does it say that God's loses some of his sheep?
Isn't it just the opposite?
It says he keeps all his sheep, that his Holy Spirit holds them for the day of redemption.
Leave the 99 and chase after the one.
That's what God does.
He will not lose any of us.
If anyone claims to be a Christian, then walks away from it, and Christ doesn't chase after him to bring him back, then that's the telling tale.
No salvation to begin with.

Why are you speaking to Jethro?
