Many christians claim that they hear Gods voice, so my question is this

"Does the voice you hear ever tell you information that is outside your own reasoning process and predictive mental abilities."

All the time. He can tell you lots of things that don't make sense until you do them, and why I have learned to not fill in the gaps.

How do you stay relevant and up to date with a 3.5 thousand year old book talking to you.

Eph.6:17
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

2Tim.3:15-17
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

No, I mean what does the bible say that's relevant to what we face in the here and now. That it is specific to helping us deal the unique problems we face today.

Absolutely!

Why do you ask?
I ask because I'm hoping someone can demonstrate how God might speak to them beyond their own reasoning and predictive capabilities.
This is so I can can have a fair idea what to expect if God ever speaks to me.

When the time comes you'll know it. :)
I thought God did talk to me when I was a Christian, but it was only my mind that was doing the talking for God. I'm very sceptical of talking voices in my head, as I've already been to hospital for that.

Blake you are so right! I am a little selfish but my daily prayer includes 1) God please speak to me today and 2) reveal yourself to me today. He does, too! He speaks in so many different ways
, it is multi-faceted. :)

Yes!

Especially when I can't find my car keys?

Matthew 5:44 "But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." - Jesus

This is not my own reasoning. People don't have the capability to (love) an enemy. It is not natural.

Lol, I don't whether to take you serious or not, as many ex-christians have pointed out to me that so many Christians are so desperate to see God acting in their lives they do actually believe God helps them find their car keys, find car spaces and starts their car on a cold winter day.

It's not easy, not, it's not natural.
