We very well read in the bible that we have a spirit, soul , and a body. Now when we are born again God's Spirit comes and dwell in us.

So do we have two spirits?

1. The Spirit of God 2. Spirit of Man

I believe the Spirit of man is God's Word when we were created. Therefore the only power that gives life is God. However that Spirit became corrupted when we doubted God's integrity and consequently we know death.

Ephesians 4:23
Spirit of our mind (kind of attitude oriented --can be spiritually minded at new birth).

Holy Spirit is a little harder to understand.
The Spirit overshadowed the tabernacle to lead it
The Spirit entered the temple and the priests could not stand to minister
The Holy Spirit in us is detected by the fruits and gifts of the Spirit. The wind is unseen, but the results of wind is understood.

Then what's this???

Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Romans 8:15-16 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the
Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God

No, we don't have two spirits. When the Spirit of God enters us, we become one with God. We are in Christ, and Christ is, in us. It is a part of the regeneration, or renewing that takes place and is promised to us when we are born again. He is made alive, he is...born of the Spirit. This is to be born again. It is a Spiritual birth in addition to our natural birth. Ye must be born again.

Think of falling in love with a girl and getting married. The love joins the two. They are one. Forget flesh bodies for a moment. We have boys and girls. But alone, we are incomplete. When a man and a woman come together, then there is completion, a, final assembly so to speak. When a man tells a woman (or vice versa) "you complete me" they may just be being romantic, but are actually exactly right.

But this is mere men and women. We were created in God image and likeness, but are certainly incomplete as we are born naturally. We are actually spiritual beings, which have gotten off the track of our identity and life when we fell in the Garden. When we're born again, we receive Gods Spirit into us and there is completion and identity restored. As spiritual beings, we are one with God, in Spirit (which is a huge reality that most do not comprehend) and as such, we are to live for the spirit. Which means, we are to seek and learn how to live as spiritual beings, and to draw on God (who is in us) to (think) make decisions, and lead us down the path of life that He has planned for us.

There's more to this world than meets the eye. We all know that, but have been conditioned to be unconscious to it, fear it, and to accept the reality (Ha!) of the so-called natural world. To believe that this is all there is. The biggest deception of all. Understand that you are a spiritual being, inside of a flesh body and supposed to be living as such. When God Spirit regenerates us and enters us everything about life changes. The way you think, act, and walk. Be the spiritual being that you were created to be. Live for the Spirit. Have faith in God that He will lead you down the proper path to life. He will feed you, protect you, teach you, and love you. Anything that any of the OT spiritual giants did, or anything that Jesus did while they/He was on earth, you can do, for you are one with God.

Believe it. He already paid the price for you to have this gift. All you have to do is to believe it, and receive it.

We are living by faith in the Son of God who gave himself for us. We have the love of God shed abroad in us.

I Corinthians 15:50
There needs to be changes done before we enter heaven.

I Corinthians 15:53
There is change for us at the end.

I Corinthians 15:51
The alive and dead will be changed

The resurrection has not passed yet. We are not yet all that we shall be.

We are not to think more highly of ourself than we should. Romans 12:3 we have the measure of faith that allows us to trust in Christ's work.

The spirit of God was in the midst of the temple (with less than perfect people). The Holy Spirit can be in a wretched man (one that grieves over his sin and looks forward to the redemption of the total man).

Judgement day is coming. The Lamb's book of life will be opened. Works and eternal life will both be under Judgement. I do not think I can sin that grace should abound, but I also know I do sin. There is a great day coming for those trusting in Jesus. There is a great day now if we have a relationship with: Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

All the wonderful things you described will happen. We just drag the body of death with us till the resurrection.

Boy I do not fit in any simple box. LOL
Love you brother.

Good morning to you brother! :)

Yessiree you are correct. Many changes coming. Actually, they begin now. The renewing and regeneration begin taking place soon after we are born again. I think that some people think that is happens magically, with no effort from themselves. But it doesn't. We are to be diligent and search the scriptures daily and learn, we are to resist temptation and stop sinning. We are to set our minds on Christ and love and begin walking in love towards our fellow man.

We get the mind of Christ brother! Praise the Lord for that! I figured out how to do it. It's in the scriptures. Everyone knows that the bible is the inspired Word of God, but we can't just take that to mean that the bible is true because it means so much more than that!

People wonder what is Gods will...It's right there in black and white (and red) lol. :)
The bible has the will of God in it. It tells us. Do this, don't do that, think on these things, don't think on those things, obey, love and all sorts of other things.

Not only does the bible tell us the will of God...I look at it this way, what was the bible before it was written down? (what is any book before it is written?) The authors thoughts!
So we have the very thoughts of God written down for us, and quite a few of them, it's a pretty big book! So if we spend enough time in the bible reading it...soon, it will literally make us to begin thinking that way...thinking like Christ, the author. The mind of Christ.

It doesn't happen automatically. We have to work at it. "Study the scriptures daily" is what it says. Well I wonder why it says that? Duh. :) Now of course we have a myriad of translations and they aren't always terribly accurate, so we do have to get a concordance (Strongs/Young's, whatever) or a computer program (E-Sword) to take us back to the original language and decipher it for us. This is essential. Sometimes even the words which you DO know what it means, is not the original language and they used what they thought to be the best paraphrase/translation to get the thought across. So if you spend enough time in it, you'll see that some passages mean something entirely different than what you've thought for years. This is a real eye-opener.

When we give our lives to the Lord and are born again, get baptized, and begin reading/seeking God, then the Holy Spirit will come and fill us, and give illumination and understanding to us in reading the scriptures. Then we begin to make progress and grow in the Lord (Did I say pray? Yes, pray pray pray pray pray, before reading, after reading, morning, noon, night...pray without ceasing.) Study to show thyself approved, and the Holy Spirit will reward your diligence with understanding and revelation of truths.

This brings on the renewing! This brings on the mind of Christ! Then it makes sense and is not just some hard to understand book with funny language.

Tooo many Christians leave the bible on the shelf gathering dust.

This book contains life. It is the key (along with prayer) to growth in Christ, righteousness, and is pleasing to God when we read it.It's the best book in the world.

Edward

Reckon we actually learn from this? LOL

John 1:14 that word / scripture kind of remained alone till it became flesh and dwelt among us. While here among us he bore our sins in his body on the cross, and by his stripes we were healed (done deal). He accomplished what we can not do.

If we accomplish the instructions IMHO we do it this way.
Ezekiel 2:1-2
He gives us instructions then Ruach enters into us to get it done.

The great commission is given several times in the gospels. But! Jesus (the Word made flesh) said first go to Jerusalem to be empowered from on high ( receive Holy Spirit ). All the time with Jesus did not make the Great Commission doable by the Disciples. The Disciples had to receive power.

Galatians 2:20
Paul gives Christ working in him ( Holy Spirit against the flesh---works in us to will and do of his good pleasure).

I agree we get instructions to do things, but I read that it is God who works in us to get it done.

Of course I hear others telling how good they are. I am reckoned dead. It is also god that works in us to will and do of his good pleasure.

So do we have two spirits?

1. The Spirit of God 2. Spirit of Man

two minds is common (double-minded),
two spirits ? ... two examples >> (maybe three)

normal man has no spirit. dead. defunct. not alive. separate from Yhwh. unable to do anything on its own initiative. (everyone is a slave of either sin , or Yeshua).

reborn man has living spirit. Yeshua is a life-giving spirit (somewhere it is written). living spirit in union with Yhwh in Yeshua and with others reborn. (yes, now, today, onearth, alive in Christ Jesus).

Yeshua claimed naturally, normally, completely, to be one with Father. Yeshua is not Abba. so, 2 spirits, in union, one. and/but each not the other.

so , reborn man, Yeshua asked the Father to make one as they are one. so He said. so it is.

very rare. impossible to see for the normal man(fleshly, carnal, worldly, with no spirit).

oh, yeah- somewhere it is written that normal man, including all believers before they are born again, are controlled , not free, (i.e. slaves while they think they are free), controlled by sin/satan. so they 'have' a spirit in a manner of speaking. an evil spirit controlling them. the state of everyone before they are set free in Christ Jesus.

It says the Spirit himself bears witness with our Spirit. It means the Spirit of God (Holy Spirit) and our spirit which is in us....what do you say about this

it's good news for a few(percentage-wise) people.
I would think that it is offered to a wide audience. If the information is presented by enough varied ways, there is a chance for a larger crowd. There are several things to be overcome.

More comments from you?

salvation is offered to the whole world, at least potentially.
yet, like the Israelites coming out of Egypt, offered a Promised Land by Yhwh,
many did not enter into the Promised Land, because of their lack of trust.

I wonder of the Israelites being saved and led out of Egypt was a type and shadow of the last days before Jesus comes?

Uh-oh...I just realized...didn't only two of them make it? :shock:eek

Did I miss something? They wandered for forty years (because they kept murmuring mostly, that helped me to learn patience and contentment in where I am)...then only two made it out if I remember right.

I'll have to reread it again tonight.

Caleb and Joshua and all young men under twenty years old went in. I know you know this, you just got confused. Two men could not represent all 12 tribes.

Oh yeah, wandered in the wilderness. Sorry if i was unclear.

(I looked on the map and between Egypt and Israel, isn't very far. It's amazing that they were lost for 40 years with such a short journey (comparatively), wow)
