I'm just asking this because we haven't had our paper physically delivered to our house since before I graduated high school. In case some of you like doing math and want to keep track, that was a very long time ago. My mom still reads the paper online but in the future that might not even exist anymore.

we do. my parents get the local paper delivered. im kinda glad. my mom uses it to get coupons, because the online coupon services apparently gather -way- too much personal info.

we also get a couple magazines delivered, even though there are online versions of the same magazine. again, im kinda glad. being able to feel what im reading...smell the paper...remember where its located, etc....makes reading it more of an experience, engaging all the senses, vs summoning it up on the computer and skimming over it.

I actually thought of this topic because I was watching Garfield the movie and I was remembering when I used to read him in the funnies. :) Now I basically get all my newsfeed online and on television just like everybody else.

I have a bottle goimg back to pre www2 from that dairy.it still stands and i took my wife to it Sunday .the home and all there is haunted .I have plans to photo it all.

I still don't understand how they did that. What if you were gone all day? Wouldn't your milk get rotten or something sitting out in the sun all day? I am not even sure if they had refrigerators back then to tell you the truth. How did they keep it cold?

The paper in my hometown use to be huge and about .75 for the Sunday edition and .35 for the daily. Then they turned it into a tabloid size edition with very few pages and it is now $1.25 daily and nearly 2.00 for the Sunday. And, it is available at their website to view for free.
When I was in Elementary school our class toured their printing facility. It was amazing to see how a newspaper was put together. All those printing presses running streams of paper through this enormous building.

They sold the property a few years ago and are now in a little building doing the whole thing but as a smaller version. What's amazing now is that technology has evolved in the last 30 years to allow that to happen. When newspapers were invented those behind the printing probably thought they'd be rich and prosperous in that way for all time. In their time they were right. But probably in the next 20 years all news will be televised or on the web. Having gone green across the board so that no print news is anywhere at all.

Really? Why didn't they just go to the grocery store to buy it themselves along with the rest of their items?
