Because I remember asking this question as a child back when I was in Sunday school and my teacher didn't know the answer to it. Now it's been about twenty years and my question still remains unanswered so I was wondering if anybody here could answer it for me. In the book of Samuel there is a guy named Saul and I vaguely remember him changing his name to Paul later on and I do believe that he became an apostle.. Is that the same guy who wrote certain parts of the Bible?

Samuel was an OT prophet. Saul was Israel's first King. Saul in the NT was a Pharisee and a persecutor of the Church. His name wasn't changed to Paul. That is the name the gentiles would have known him by.

Oh okay thanks guys! The question that had been a mystery to me for twenty years finally has an answer lol and now I know why his name was changed too. :)

Now...what really twists my biscuits is that they both were from the Tribe of Benjamin.
And that's pretty special. With unique name changes and everything.
Benjamin's name had been changed as well. It's a never ending group of unique coincidenses.
