Paul said in Roman 1:32, that you should be put to death for certain infractions. Which in Biblical times you would have. Should that be carried out today ? Reason God does not change, His Word which is Him does not change, should homosexuals be put to death ? Read verse 32 below, as a matter of fact read verses 18 to 32. And tell me your take on this. But take a good look at verse 32 (Worthy Of Death) when you get to it. Even a lot of Christians are scared to answer this question, in today's time, because they don't want to be looked down upon, by Christian and secular people alike.

Romans 1:19-32 KJV
18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Re: Does Romans 1:32 sill hold today ?

I think the whole context here is not that of capital punishment for these sins (for even in the OT sins such as gossip or arrogance weren't capital offenses) but rather that it is sins such as these that make such sinners worthy of eternal death. There is no excuses for those who practice such things to be spared eternal judgment, even if they haven't heard the gospel. All who practice such things, whether Jew or Greek, whether knowing God or not, are worthy of the second death. Read onwards, through to Romans 2:16 and you'll see what I mean.

During every age each government has it's things which are considered capital offenses. Sometimes these things were wildly unjust, such as it being a capital offense in many Muslim countries today for a woman to disobey her husband and talk to a man she isn't related to. Throughout most of man's history, murder has always been a capital offense. Only since the past century in the West, has it ceased to be so. Whether or not homosexuality should be considered a capital offense today, if I've a vote, I'd vote an emphatic no. God called for the death penality in ancient Israel for the offense, but we no longer live under those laws, we now can extend God's mercy to others, just as He extends His mercy to us.

As a former homosexual let he who without sin put me to death, JESUS forgave me of this as I repented.
all sin leads to death

Re: Does Romans 1:32 sill hold today ?

For me, there are two things to consider about Romans 1:32:

in it's most strict contextual understanding, it shows they are worthy of death as the earlier passage of Paul's describes;

Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

Here, we are dealing with all ungodliness and unrighteousness. From here on, Paul is addressing a specific problem with the culture he is writing to... the Romans. But since God never changes, His Wrath is still valid even today and especially at the day of Judgment.

In a much broader sense, this passage (as well as most of the Bible) points to man's need of the Gospel and more importantly, the need of a Savior.

Sorry to sidestep here but...

:clap WOOOHOOO Jasoncran! PRAISE GOD! :pray That is so Awesome! Have you shared your testimony anywhere???

I have from time to time and I keep silence most of the time as I fear homophic reactions, But now I speak beacause I must. I try to help those who hate Homosexuals. In my hometown about ten years ago a gay man was murdered and left in a dumpster, so i must speak wisely. Homosexuality is a lie.

But I'll share more I fell into this sin and was only it for a short time a few months. It was fight to do it. I had to ignore my consciense to do it. It got easier as i did that.

A freind's mother was told by him about my lifestyle. Being born again she was grieved for me, and prayed for me. She was also a prophetess and told me to read ROMANS 1. At the reading of that I begged for mercy, and gave that up. I was the power of Jesus that did that.

However, the gay rights won't tell you this, any male homosexual can't give blood for rest his life. Even if he repents and lives a heterosexual life. His sexual(female) partners are in this exclusion as well. Based upon that how can being a male homosexual be healthy. This is enforced by the FDA.

Will Romans 1 work on everyone, don't know. God is able and works differently.

If you were experimenting that does not make you a homosexual, many have done this for a minute, and have never done it again for the rest of their lives. Now if you are burning in your heart for a man there is a problem.

No i'm my heart i know that I was heading that way. Its jesus that changed it. I understand the Homosexual aversion to our( christian) stance as I was going through that. I remember that well, I started also to indentify with that my lifestyle was me. Theres more to tell and I reveal later as it's painful to talk about as old wounds are opened up. The Romans 1 verses applied to that lifestyle. as i can relate. It's a spirit of reprobate. I wasn't looking to this sin, but was naive and caught offguard by the devil. I'm sure some Homosexuals have been hooked in. If your'e a bible believing christian you know devil works very subtly and pokes our armor to find chinks.

I worked with a gay man years ago he thought that despite my stance against that he believe i was gay. I guess its like an alcoholic can sniff out another alcoholic in any room without any prior knowledge of that person.

BTW are you saved?

Jason God can use you for others like you, this is why He called you, you were drawn. he had you in mind. Remember not everyone gets saved. He called you out to use you. He wants you to be a living walking testimony. You see, He can use you like He uses me for drug addicts, and alcoholics, why because I have been there. Through our testimony we are to let people know that we are free from the pull homosexuality, drugs, alcoholism, prostitution. You can talk to the young confused gay boy or man, let God's light shine through you. You were drawn for a reason, He would have left you where you were, if He did not want you.

John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
