For as the body is one, and has many member, and all the member of that one body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ.” 1 Cor. 12:12) NKJ

Parkinson’s disease is a ravaging ailment. The brain produces a neurotransmitter called dopamine, which carry the brains wishes from cell to cell throughout the body. When dopamine-producing cells die, communications breaks down, and the body does not respond properly to commands from the brain. People with Parkinson’s face much frustration as the disease progresses. The body no longer obeys the head.

The church is also a physical body with Christ as the Head. There is beautiful harmony and wonderful symmetry as the head and the body work together. Every muscle works in cooperation with the others under the brain’s command. If we work together with our brethren under the direction of Christ we can work in beautiful harmony.

However, if we forget who the head of the church is we will lose His transmitters. Many churches have symptoms of Parkinson’s because they do not listen to Christ and obey His commands. Members oppose one another, they do not work together and the beauty of the Body of Christ becomes ugly.

Churches do not need to have Parkinson’s. All members, including the pastor, needs to fine-tune their connection to Christ the Head. All can be animated with vitality and spiritual fervor. All can have a united focus. All can be fitly joined together and working effectually.
Remember it is your responsibility to stay fine turned to the Head of the Body and avoid Parkinson’s.
