Easter's On Its Way!

I first wanted to start this thread off by saying that I sure hope that everyone had a very good Saint Patrick's Day yesterday. And now that that's over, I feel like we can officially welcome the Easter season. Easter is a beautiful time of year. It is a time to be with family and friends. It is a time for children to get their Easter baskets from the Easter Bunny, and hunt for Easter eggs. It is also a time to color Easter eggs and make yummy egg salad for lunch or dinner. But most of all, and I do mean most of all, it is a time to reflect on what the true meaning of this holiday is. For it is only because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior that we get a chance at eternal life. We just have to trust in Him, and believe in Him, and be the kind of people that God wants us to be. So, please feel free to share stories, post pictures, and celebrate the good news that (as my username suggests,..)

Wow Reba, I haven't listened to the song yet but you like Carman?? Awesome! I love that guy! I never heard of him before until Allen Wynne posted one of his videos; "Addicted to Jesus." Awesome! I was just wondering though, does anybody know why Jesus waited three days before He rose again? I mean why did He pick the number three? Did it have to do with the fact that He was part of the holy trinity, you know,.. the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost? I always sort of wondered that. Anyway, here is a video of the actual (supposedly) tomb of Jesus and the story of why we dye Easter eggs. You might be surprised if you give it a read.

Yes they do. In a couple of their songs I've heard anyway, but that was a really good song. I loved the beat and the message of it. Anyway, do you know what the significance of Jesus deciding to rise from the grave in three days is? Was it because of the holy trinity that I mentioned before? Oh, and I realize that this is from a Veggie Tales movie, but it is truly one of the most beautiful and powerful songs that I've ever heard. And yes I like Veggie Tales, I really think that they're so cute.

Alright, thanks for explaining that to me because I never really understood what was so significant about the three days thing. I don't really think that it matters on how many days later that He rose, just the fact that He did is what we celebrate on Easter and that He paid the price for our sins. I posted another version of this song on a different thread and I really wanted to post it here because I think that it also depicts the true meaning of Easter. And I have also attached a fun clip from one of my favorite Easter movies. And by the way, has anybody heard of doing this egg challenge with your dog?

Wow, it really is hard to believe that Easter is only a couple of weeks away. I found this clip awhile ago, I haven't seen it yet but it looks interesting due to the fact that I really loved Sheri Lewis and Hush Puppy as a child.

I noticed that for some strange reason that this thread isn't as popular as I originally thought it was going to be. Well anyway, I hope all of you had a good Friday today (pun intended) and just like I did for Saint Patrick's Day, on Easter Sunday morning I will be posting a parade. This time, it will be the parade that occurs every year for Easter. I was going to dye my Easter eggs today but since my mother didn't have time to boil them after she got home from work, I guess I will tomorrow. (that is something that I can do on my own and I really do still enjoy doing them ) Hopefully I will have better luck with my next special holiday thread, as for now, here is a very interesting video on how they make Peeps.
