I was just really curious what everyone's take was on this. I personally think it's inhumane, but I'm really curious to see what everyone else's opinion is on it. I'm sure I could think of more things to say if I wanted to, but I have been having a pretty bad day all in all.

The shock comes on progressively and the dogs soon learn to back away when they have experienced only a slight tingle.

I have a friend who has show horses. They have a beautiful expensive white fence surrounding their property and above and between the fence boards they have electric fence strung. This isn't to keep the horses away it is to keep people from sliding between the fence slats to pet or ride the horses since they can be seen from the highway.

Most animals sense the electrical field that emanates from the fence strands.
If you're looking for a natural fence that's a trespass deterrent I suggest Crown of Thorns bushes. Don't plant too wide though so that deer can jump over free of the barbs.

It maybe a bit inhumane for animals who don't know any better because there minds are deficient and everytime they touch a fence they get electricuted. But not for humans. If Trumps builds a wall it should be electrified for added security.

Really? I wasn't sure if the shock would really hurt the dogs or not though.
No,my dad's dog has simply ran through the shocking and kept going.
I knew by the amount of pain Cheyenne was in that it was her time. Cheyenne had a bad hip surgery and drug her leg for a few years .she despite that would love to walk.she didn't go as far but I learned how pain tolerant they are.I have seen a dog chase me in a screen enclosure using his front paws.it was unable to use its rear legs fully.

It depends on how bad they want something.

Horses, cow fencing uses 120v.if I work the 41st driving route I will post the demand meter dedicated to a 10 acre fenced area.it's 240v

How powerful can an electric fence get?. I think Trump should max it out so you can feel the force field just getting close to the wall.
Uhm that isn't how they work, shoot I have photographed far more higher voltage within feet and not felt that.sub station one.I waa within 10 feet of it.the switches dont appear to have hydraulic assist as with higher voltages you can't remove power via pulling the lever directly to the switch as the arcing would take you out.its possible this does use that.

Like a bbq setting?

Lol. No, like Jim said in the post above that would be insane. I didnt think about it of course no one should be acturally electricuted by accident so not too powerful. Maybe the standard electric fence.

Obviously powerful is good security but stupid idea.

Lol. Not anymore, like Jim said in the post above that would be insane. I didnt think about it of course no one should be acturally electricuted. Thats crazy. Lol.
The "fence" is just a wire buried completely underground, and the shock only comes from some small batteries in the dog's collar. You (or even a toddler) can step right on it in a rainfall, and not even know it is there.

Prisons use electric fences it's deadly.the one I talked about is a 240 v one.it's connected to one breaker and has 240v on it.

But there is always clear signs so people are warned. Like you see big signs saying warning 50,000 volts. Do not come near, do not touch and so on. So they have covered themselves if anything happens as there was warning.

And like dogs. Beware of dogs, dogs on premises and so on.
