Good evening, Brother's & Sister's. Praise the Lord, I finally got me a new computer today. Well, a decent used one. I've been using this stupid smart phone for too long.

Anyway, my problem is that, for some reason, I can't get email notifications about threads. I think I talked with a mod about this awhile back, and the conclusion was that it must be something with my system because it looked ok on your side. That I was set to receive notifications.

I never could get the notifications coming again on my side, but it was no big deal to me, I'd just look for the alerts when I got on.

But now I have my new desktop and am trying to sign on to CF, but forgot my password. I just stayed logged in on my phone.

So I did the forgot password procedure...and it says it sent my password change instructions to my email...but it isn't showing up in my email or my spam folder, presumably because of the same reason that I don't get notifications from the site...?

Prolly some kind of spiritual attack lol.

Will you tell me password or otherwise help me to be able to sign in from my desktop to CF?
Puuleeese?! Lol :lol

We might need a better description of the purpose for this forum. It says "Need a place to talk privately with the staff about an issue or concern?". Edward, your question fits well with that description, but not really what TWITS is for. We use it primarily for issue resolution when someone is upset about an action taken upon them. I'd say this is perfect for the Questions and Suggestions Forum.

I say that because it's not a private matter, and more importantly someone might know what the solution is who isn't on the team. And your thread could end up helping someone else who isn't getting email notifications if it does get resolved. Having this discussion open to the public could benefit you and others.

If emails aren't going to your spam box, I can't help you. I always have to go there when it comes time for my periodic authentication check. Sorry. That would have been my only answer for you.

I can reset a pass word.. to a generic one then you will have to reset to one of your liking... I will not do this with out you being on line same time as me... I am not that confident scary huh

I did get the password thing resolved. I got lucky and was able to remember it, but thanks anyway for that. :)

Good idea about forums. I guess I just wasn't thinking...

It would be nice to be able to get notifications again though. If you have any ideas about that I'd be much obliged to ya. ;)

Go ahead and move my thread to the other forum if you think that it'll help..

Thanks

Back in the day there use to be a small pop up window when you received a new message.
I like the new method of notifications in the upper right corner.
I checked my email last night for the first time in a few days and I had a lot of email from CFnet.
I suppose when someone sends you a PM I have it setup to be notified via email. No problem, but I'm not sure how I set that up? I had a lot of PM's welcoming me back.

I got my new computer, never did start receiving notifictions. Had a problem. wiped my computer, it works again...but still no notifications, and not only that I am subscribed to BibleGateways reading plan and got notifications from them everyday...but not now. Weird huh? Facebook notifications work, regular email comes through, but no CF.net or Biblegateway.
