Kids gonna get mad no matter how well their parents are doing.
~someone who was once a bratty kid

I have raised 4 kids...3 boys and a girl, and I am sure I went against this warning MANY times. We are after all, human. Best we can do as parents, is to walk as close to the LORD as possible and He will make sure we don't provoked our children. Today, I have a great relationship with my kids, despite all the so-called dysfunction that went on when I was growing as a parent. As in ALL things, put the LORD first and He will give us ALL we need.

True I think all parents get to that point but, how many children follow Ephesians 6:1 (ESV)

The one is NOT contingent on the other IMO. Our individual responsibilities in light of scripture, are ours, and ours alone.
I'd have to say that if a parent did parent the way the Bible shows us in Eph 6:4 for example, then kids would have no problem doing what Eph 6:1 teaches, but as in all of life, there are NO guarantees, just God's promise that He will work ALL things together for good. Rom 8:28

I agree. Gotta consider that in times like ours raising a child is no easy task. Mainly do to TV and media in general... The point being no matter how well or close you parent accordingly to scripture we are all still going to fall short. (Romans 3:23)

It must be nice brother! When I was raising my kids, I wasn't walking with the Lord, but had a great relationship with the kids. Now that they're grown, I am walking with the Lord ...and have a crappy relationship with them. Neither one cares about anything except drugs. :sad
