Good morning,

On the 01 April I stated a thread titled 'Accepting Christ'; in this thread I asked members about the process and I received some excellent replies.
In light of this advise, I have repented and accepted Christ which was not my initial intention when I became a member here.
With my new found faith being in the early days, I may be seeking advise from Christian members here and using the members advise and experience to aid me on my journey from the initial stages.
I kindly request that my Faith Status is modified from 'No' to 'Yes'; is this something which could be changed?
Staff, if you decline to await my posts over the coming months to ensure indeed that I have accepted Christ, I understand. I don't want to mislead any members, especially new members with what I write and what information proceeds my Faith Status.

Thank you,

Markus

2 Corinthians 5:17

17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

That's for you!
Do you have a Bible?

The journey I personally have had along my Christian walk has been filled with nothing I expected. Where your journey takes you is between you and God...I'm certain that He will have plans for you.
But in Psalm 37(NIV) holds many truths that someone starting out in their faith can hold onto. It's a real struggle at first. The war being within instead of external.

Thank you for the replies.
Angel, I appreciate your prayers and I am happy to be your brother in Christ as I am happy for you to be my sister in Christ.
reba, thank you; I am excited to continue with my journey and look forward to what's to await me.
JohnDB, all our journeys differ I'm sure; each being unique. Thank you for the Psalm, it is very useful.

My apologies I didn't see your question.
Yes I do; I own a NKJV, NIV and NRSV.

Markus,
My name screams English heritage but my mama was a Schoenberg so there is another Square Head on these forums, just in disguise. I am very happy to have a new brother in Christ.

One word of advice....If someone presents scripture...open your NKJV, NIV and NRSV....and read the surrounding verses.
Biblical verses are often drug out of context and used to support theological views.
Amen, the best advise any can give.

This is GREAT news! When I first read your thread asking about this I was pretty sure this would be the result. People just don't put the kind of thought into it that you did nor ask those kind of questions if they aren't serious! Congratulations on the most important decision you will ever make in your life.

Of course, God never promises that everything will always go your way now because of this, but He does promise "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28 NIV) It can be hard sometimes, and Satan WILL NOT be happy with you now that you have effectively rejected him when you turned your life over to God, but we have the assurance from scripture that "the one who is in you (Jesus) is greater than the one who is in the world (Satan). (1 John 4:b, NIV, parenthesis added for clarity.) So even though the devil will now try to get to you, just rely on the power of God to work through you to fight him off and you will win, and all things truly will work together for good. I base my testimony of the truth of this scripture on several decades of seeing it work this way in my own life as a Christian.

Luke 15
"4 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? 5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ 7 I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance."

No doubt there was a big party in heaven when you were brought to faith in Christ Jesus!

Yay!
In addition to what has been said already, I just wanted to add;

Many humans (most of us?) have a tendency to lean on our feelings, and so, when we can no longer feel that calm, or excited or peaceful or comforting feeling of God's presence, we start asking ourselves if He left us.

There will be times when God feels distant, and times where nothing seems to make sense. Please know that even in those times God IS there. ... as others have said, there will be a battle where the devil tries to whisper lies and make you doubt (his best weapon is "Did God REALLY say .... ?) So hang in there! Trust God and turn to Him even if he at times feels distant.

Welcome to the family of Christ :)
