Psalm 51:16,17 - For Thou dost not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it; Thou art not pleased with burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, Thou wilt not despise.

Faith's nature is to possess the promises of God. I cannot advance spiritually without both faith and humility. Indeed, faith without humility inevitable becomes presumption, while humility without faith never ascends above oppression.

Hebrews 11:6 - But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
