This is a very serious question that I have about something very ridiculous. Why are Christians so offended about fantasy? I will give you a perfect example. I know that magic in the Bible is considered satanic and I am against fortune tellers and people who practice witchcraft in the real world, but somehow I don't think Harry Potter is quite what God had in mind. Being born with magical powers, flying on a broomstick, and waving a wand are pure fantasy and in fun and that's why I love it! I love being able to use my imagination as you can tell by my signature. :) Anyway, I'm already fully aware that I am probably going to get blasted for this, but I also love magic tricks. I am fully aware that they are not real and I love wondering how they did it and trying to figure it out. So I am posting a video to a believe it or not,.. Christian magician that always has wonderful lessons along with his tricks.

Deuteronomy 18:9 When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. 13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.

Even fantasy like Harry Potter who uses wizardry are still real in reality and an abomination to God.

I'm sorry but I find that ridiculous. Just my opinion please don't hate.[/QUOTE]
You know I would never hate you or anyone for that matter. It's only when fantasy becomes reality that it becomes an abomination as it does become reality in many peoples lives as they practice what they see. We just need to guard ourselves.

Uh.. did I say anything about practicing witchcraft? It's also kind of hard to practice riding a broomstick although it would be awesome, it just isn't real. I don't see anything wrong about allowing children to use their imaginations, Harry Potter seems perfectly harmless in my mind.

Watching potter, lotr,aND so forth normally wouldn't cause that.

If that person wants to be a menataur,or to fight via magic he isn't a sane person. Your temptation comes from ghost stories, haunted homes aND trying to talk to them.those do exist ,we have that here
I have been a costed a few times.even in broad day light. A home where I felt I waa watched, a cool breeze in a building when it was near 100 aND the doors were open aND no breeze on the outside. Erie feelings in a few buildings, ghost buildings .

That's my experience, I dont go trying to talk to them but I know they are there.

We rent a 200 year old farm house and both my husband and I see small black shadows race across the floor and even at times I hear my name being called. I'm not frightened by it, don't understand it, but yet it's there. So yes, I think paranormal things do exist, but mine are harmless so I leave it alone.

I'm kinda a big magic fan, also. Entertainment magic only, not the seriously-practiced occult stuff mentioned in the Bible. I like Penn & Teller (yes, I know they're both avowed atheists) and Shawn Farquhar (he's a Christian). I've probably seen every episode of Fool Us.

Really? It's nice to see that I'm not the only one. I like Penn and Teller too. Maybe I'll post some videos of them tomorrow. As long as it's not a video of them announcing the fact that their atheists, I should be alright.:) I am with you on the Fool Us by the way.

What do you all think of children's stories about fairies?
And Father Christmas?

That was a cool video by the way Kevin, I wonder how he did that.

I am not sure who you are asking but I would hope that everyone here would understand that fairies are just make believe too. As for Father Christmas, well, Jesus might be the whole entire reason for the season, but that doesn't mean that children can't have their fun with leaving milk and cookies out for Santa.

Nothing wrong with magic tricks and the like.
But being an adult and still talking about them and trying to justify them, now there a problem may lie.

Plenty of adults talk about magic tricks, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
