Here are some more magic videos I thought that you all would enjoy. It's funny, I know that there's always a trick to them but still, sometimes it's just more fun to call it magic.

In all my years I have never solved a Rubik's Cube, but yet this guy manages to pull it off in seconds. I really need to know his secret lol. He is completely amazing and talented.

As soon as I post this I will be watching it for the first time just like you, but this is a time killer if you're really bored like me. Lol

Here is America's Got Talent winner Mat Franco.

And finally, I think somebody else mentioned this guy and here he is performing on Penn and Teller Fool Us.

Enjoy! And hope you are entertained. :)

There was a pretty contentious thread here a couple years back. It seems that some people believe that all magic tricks are performed by being in league with demonic forces. We're talking entertainment magic, like Penn and Teller, David Blaine, David Copperfield, etc. I couldn't believe 21st century adults could think this way. Yes, there is real occult magic because the Bible mentions it, but I'm talking about entertainment magic. I even took the trouble to explain how most of the tricks they questioned me with are done.

So I don't know if that's the problem here, but once again let me say that eMagic is just science and psychology, nothing more. OK, so I'll do one: the vanishing bottle is done with a fake bottle made of silicone specifically made for magic tricks. Although so realistic it looks like a real glass bottle, it readily collapses under very light pressure. Do a search on eBay for "disappearing bottle".

Shawn was the first person to appear on Fool Us, and the first person to fool Penn and Teller. P&T were in shock and wondering if everyone was going to fool them. They didn't, of course, but Farquhar also became the first person to reappear on the show and fool them a second time!!

I'm sorry, I didn't realize that some of those videos that I posted might have been questionable. If they weren't allowed let me know. Anyway, here is just a few more neat videos.

Here is some card magic by Christian magician Brad Brown once again.

And last but not least, some tricks that you can learn to do yourself. :)

Indeed. Most magicians consider themselves illusionists; not wizards. My first reaction to a magic trick is to wonder how they did it; not consider that they morphed something by the dark arts.

As far as Harry Potter and fantasy, I believe this is something that falls into the category of Romans 14:1-13 where it can be a sin to someone who feels nudged by the Holy Spirit to not watch it. To others who don't feel convicted, it can be harmless fun. Grounded believers can take in fantasy without allowing it to trip up their walks with Christ. I would caution people not to absorb themselves in fantasy, or it could begin to blur the lines between Truth and untruth.

Yeah, and I think that it's pretty obvious that I don't. I know the difference between what's real and what's not. I wasn't sure how you were going to respond to this at first but I'm glad that you understand. :) I'm always going to devote myself to God and following His word, I'm just the type of girl who loves having fun. By the way, just for the record, JK Rowling herself is a Christian.

I have no trouble believing that demons can come through popular media and influence people, but that is true of anything, movies, music, etc. and is not particular to Harry Potter films. Just keep some perspective.

I'm not actually a Harry Potter fan myself for some reason. Just never got into it. But I can see how entertaining it would be if you did.

1 Samuel 28:7-19

Then Saul said to his servants, "Seek for me a woman who is a medium, that I may go to her and inquire of her." And his servants said to him, "Behold, there is a woman who is a medium at En-dor." Then Saul disguised himself by putting on other clothes, and went, he and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night; and he said, "Conjure up for me, please, and bring up for me whom I shall name to you." But the woman said to him, "Behold, you know what Saul has done, how he has cut off those who are mediums and spiritists from the land. Why are you then laying a snare for my life to bring about my death?"

This is a very serious question that I have about something very ridiculous. Why are Christians so offended about fantasy? I will give you a perfect example. I know that magic in the Bible is considered satanic and I am against fortune tellers and people who practice witchcraft in the real world, but somehow I don't think Harry Potter is quite what God had in mind. Being born with magical powers, flying on a broomstick, and waving a wand are pure fantasy and in fun and that's why I love it! I love being able to use my imagination as you can tell by my signature. :) Anyway, I'm already fully aware that I am probably going to get blasted for this, but I also love magic tricks. I am fully aware that they are not real and I love wondering how they did it and trying to figure it out. So I am posting a video to a believe it or not,.. Christian magician that always has wonderful lessons along with his tricks.

I generally like fantasy like Harry Potter, LOTR, Narnia though I am more into Scifi. I watch the Carbonaro Effect every week and I love how people fall for his tricks because he sounds so authoritative when he shows the people a product

Exactly what I expressed in a different thread where HP came up. On the other hand, I saw the new Jumanji, and I loved it! It blew away the original with Robin Williams, IMO.

HeIsRisen2018, as you conveyed in the OP of this thread, you expected alternative opinions. I don't think it's advisable to then suggest someone not participate in it if they disagree. Count Duckula gave scripture that he believes applies here, and this is a Christian forum. While I don't agree that the verses he quoted do apply to fictional fantasy, he does, and I respect that.

If you're steady and confident that HP doesn't lure you into the clutches of evil, and you are, let people walk their walks and you walk yours. :yes

imagination is a wonderful thing

God said He would do above and beyond all we can imagine or think

because imagination is so powerful i try to make sure i apply my imagination to profitable things - things that will draw me closer to God

i used to have silly imaginations in an attempt to make myself feel better about myself - i was always perfect and the hero in my imaginations

God told me one day to imagine better more useful things - like me and God having a wonderful relationship - and me praying for and blessing others - and me loving others no matter what they did - and me being wise in the wisdom of God

when i started applying my imagination toward God and the wonderful things He said in His word my life started to change

so for me imagination brings spiritual things into natural realities - meaning they are no longer fantasy - they are now fact

love and prayers dear friend

You have made an important statement.
You said "magic tricks."
Those are not "real" (satanic, demonic, etc.) magic. They are tricks using misdirection, slight-of-hand, and other techniques to create the impression that something impossible has been done.
They are great entertainment.

You know, you really are starting to annoy me. If you don't like Harry Potter or magic tricks then go somewhere else geesh! This thread is for people who enjoy that sort of thing. Nobody is forcing you to watch the videos I posted or be part of the conversation.
Calm down.

Do you love Harry Potter more than Jesus? How much yime do you spend on discussing theology and bible scriptures, and things that contrary to God’s word when he tells us to turn away from such things and never have anything to do with them. God does not want anyone including children believe and being INFATUATED by black magic, the dark arts and God is absolutely against witches and witchcraft. These movies are an abomination to God and they do absolutely NOTHING but serve a satanic agenda against God’s word! Satan endorses this, not God! These movies should not be allowed on Christian forums, they should be forbidden! It’s all about witchcraft and sorcerey.

That's your opinion. And no, I do not love them more than Jesus and I do not believe in them because I already stated that I enjoy it because it's fantasy. You are allowed to state your opinion, but you are not allowed to tell me what to do. As Jim Parker already said, the only thing real about it is that it's real good entertainment. So basically take a chill pill alright? :rolleyes Ah well, haters will hate.

Even fantasy like Harry Potter who uses wizardry are still real in reality and an abomination to God.
I'm sorry but I find that ridiculous. Just my opinion please don't hate.[/QUOTE]
I love fantasy and sci fi books/movies and they are for my enjoyment in reading and watching them and not something I worship or follow or teach as real. Jesus knows that as well. I have no problem with the young dressing up and having fun on halloween either.
