I must admit I dont know a lot about C S Lewis. I struggled with his The Screwtape Letters, frankly.

C.S. Lewis is deep.
The further along your walk with Christ, the easier his reading becomes.
What I read of him 25 years ago makes a lot more sense today and therefore is a lot more interesting.

C.S. Lewis is deep.

What I struggled with is the humor put in the lips of the devil, in the Screwtape Letters. I kind of avoid this kind of thing. I'm sure C S Lewis is very varied in his writings, though.
 
All time best would be J.R.R. Tolkien. He transcends the genre and has had wide acceptance beyond it.

C.S. Lewis, of course. (Tolkien was one of several who helped Lewis find God)

If you want to know about a new talent, who might be breaking out this year, Frank Luke. If you get a chance to read Rebirths, take a look. A bit more intellectual in his approach, but entirely Christian in his outlook.

We spent some time once, talking about whether an anthropomorphic big cat would still have a tail. I figured "yes", since it's an organ of balance as well as a mood signal for them.
 
Just to put in my two bits: I don't consider Tolkien to be Christian, even though The Lord of the Rings has many Christian themes in it. I believe he himself was a Christian, but the novels contain witchcraft which is strongly condemned in the Bible.

What are your opinions on the Narnia books by C.S. Lewis then? I think those books contain some witchcraft as well, not entirely sure. Isn't witchcraft like, sort of the same as magic as well?

He was a committed Christian. He was instrumental in bringing C.S. Lewis to God. One of the best.

It's not meant to be a allegory of anything, but it is the most profound exposition of the temptations of sin and the triumph of good in the face of evil. And it makes clear that we are all vulnerable to it. Even the Dark Lord started out with good intentions.

The Bible contains witchcraft. I don't see the point.
 
You guys forgot Ryan Archer. ;)

If you like This Present Darkness, you will enjoy The Curse of the Rodain (part 1 of the Rodain Trilogy), because it is This Present Darkness meets The Lord of the Rings but with a unique interraction with Jesus Himself.

Book Two, titled "The Rebellion of the Rodain" I expect to have out in the Spring of 2014 AD. If you like it on Facebook it will keep you posted on all the updates. Book Three, "The Resurrection of the Rodain" will be out soon after. If you like THE CURSE OF THE RODAIN, please give it a good review online (Amazon, Goodreads, etc), because it just was released at Thanksgiving this year. And even if it were a most excellent piece of Christian fiction, it will do no one any good if they don't know about it, right? ;)

I've started a new by Lynn Austin. Return to Me (The Restoration Chronicles Book #1).
It's the story of a family that returns to Jerusalem after King Cyrus has declared that the Jews may return and rebuild the temple. After 70 yrs. in Babylon and most being born there, it is a step of faith to relocate to Jerusalem.
