Cream, especially if chilled.(though if it's custard instead, all the better)

I didn't realize there would be so many people choosing jelly filled. It must be rasberry, of course. :smt060

It wasn't nice to put the Krispy Kreme option too. I was agonizing over the two options for quite sometime, battling with myself. :smt062

A RASBERRY JELLY-FILLED KRISPY KREME! There, I got that out. :biggrin

Thanks, Brutus, now I'm hungry. :o

Why does everyone like Krispy Kreme? :-?

Their first store was in the city that I live in. http://www.krispykreme.com/history.html

All I see around here is Krispy Kreme. Personally, I'd take Dunkin Donuts any day. I just think they taste better. The only prob is that Dunkin Donuts isn't as close as KK.

Although, I just bought a dozen KK doughnuts yesterday from the grocery store so I guess I really have no room to talk. :-?

As for favorite kind, I like the Chocolate Iced.

I don't like them either. They're all sugar! Dunkin' Donuts is my choice for donuts AND coffee. Barvarian Cream is my fav. :-D

Yeah, I dig on Dunkin Donuts more than Krispy Kreme. KK's good and all, but I like the more "cake-iness" of Dunkin's. Plus, they have the ultra cake like, non glazed chocolate frosted kind that KK just doesn't offer. That one and the blueberry rock!

That's IT! I can only eat on KK doughnut and by time I take the last bite, I'm gagging because they're so sweet.

Yeah, DD's are more cake like. And like Vic said, they aren't as sugary. KK's are so sweet that after the last bite, I'm literally gagging.

For me, give me a plain Entenmanns donut. They are just right. I'll eat just about any Donut, and right now, Krispie Kremes are a good study tool. In the end though, a plain Entenmanns donut is my favorite.

I added KK as an option because of how popular and successful they've been. I too wouldn't say they are my first pick.

In the other doughnut poll I said Krispy Kreme made the best donuts but Dunkin Donuts' make a wonderful doughnut called Maple frosted and I well just love it.

I like Maple Bars form winchells doughnuts, especially when they are still warm.... :icecream:

Okay...I am new here...but why must you all pick on the KK's?

:smt022

I love them...I grew up on DD, that's all we had. Then in my 20's a KK came to town! Well, they just melt in your mouth, granted more than one does get a bit sweet, but that first one is just wonderful.

Besides that...my dad use to come to our farm in Missouri every weekend with three dozen....35 glazed and 1 rasberry filled for his sweet, angelic daughter.

I've grown up in the birthplace of KK. That's all you hear around here. They're everywhere. It seems like every function you go to, there are good ol' KK doughnuts. :-?

After a while they make me gag. Even the smell of them. So, DD is a welcome change.

hahaha, you called a good one BruCat! I totally forgot about the big E. I dig their chocolat ones. They are a bit dry but they're good. You saying that reminded me of the powdered sugar Sweet Sixteen ones. But if we're going to jump from freshly made (KK, Dunkin) to store bought then I have to put those beige kind with the coconut on the outside at the top of the list. I think they're supposed to go with coffee. I have no idea what that flavor is called but both Hostess and Dolly madison make them.

definatelyy apple fritters.

Here is a poem i wrote when eating donuts one day :tongue

That creamy chocolate
Covered in sprinkles
The blue berry middle
When I see, my eyes twinkle

The apple fritters
Cinnamon rolls
Tarts, eclairs
And donut holes

Churros and chocolate
Powdered cherry
Crullers and custards
Stars and raspberry

Longjohns and twists
Beignets and cremes
Bavarian cake
They’re all in my dreams

But if we're going to jump from freshly made (KK, Dunkin) to store bought then I have to put those beige kind with the coconut on the outside at the top of the list.

Yes, I agree, those are delicous, always moist, and the best store bought. What do they call those? Similar to Zingers, without the rasberry and the creme filling. Love Zingers too!

Darn it! Hungry again.

Peace...cute poem. :)

Good poem, peace4all.
I have not had a KK doughnut since I was a child, but I have fond memories of them. Our school used to sell them every year to raise funds, and my mother, a teacher, used to buy dozens and dozens of them out of her own pocket, and then at break time she would sale the doughnuts for a quarter each to her students. Then she would take that money to buy party supplies to have a nice party for her students. Any doughnuts that were left over she would bring home and boy did I love that and I think her students loved it too.
