Don't get me wrong, I loved this movie series as a child and I still love it now, but why did they use mostly animatronic whales for the second and third movie? (at least that's why I read) I can see using them for some of the scenes, but at least in the first movie it was mostly the real whale. (Keiko)

Technology improved so much that robot whales were able to do all the scenes by themselves. In the first movie, robots were not yet good enough to get the job done by themselves.

Oh. I didn't know that you were a Free Willy fan. :) I personally believe that it's better with real whales though.

Oh and here's another good song that I like from the second Free Willy movie. :) (probably because I'm still young at heart)

Orcas always come in my local harbour chasing stingrays.

Well I would definitely be surprised if the whales (technically dolphins) ended up winning in the end when it comes to their stingers.

Orcas, not the biggest of the whaLes but can be deadly .these are often sighted in the puget sound.

True. Very good point. There were multiple attacks at SeaWorld which is part of the reasons why I'm guessing they are deciding to end the breeding program.

I don't understand the full article but it still sounds horrible! Those poor whales, how awful! :sad

They used to use a chemical in electrical equipment called PCB (polychlorinated biphenyl). They found out it was not good for people or animals, so they stopped using it. A lot of it is still around in the environment though. It lasts a long long time.

We have not been good stewards. Lord have Mercy!

What in the world are you talking about!? :confused2

Warning: I am an in EXTREMLEY hyper mood right now because I am finally feeling better after being sick all day, going to the movies tomorrow, starting my virtual Halloween party thread the same day, and it is also the start of October which means it's that much closer to Halloween. Party time!!!!! :dunce
