A relative keeps giving me headache about this verse of the bible:
Genesis 4:14 NKJV

14 Surely You have driven me out this day from the face of the ground; I shall be hidden from Your face; I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond on the earth, and it will happen that anyone who finds me will kill me.
----

That was Cain's response to God after he had commited murder.
So this my relative keeps asking me the question, who is the 'anyone' since only Cain and his family members were in the world? He claims the bible is incomplete or contradicts itself.
----

I know the 'anyone' refers to People and not necessarily a single individual. I told him the statement refers to the future, and the 'anyone' could mean his relatives in the future - since the bible did not mention there were other people in the world other than Cain and his family.
----
There is a translation that says '...if people find me they would kill me...' The 'if' is conditional and still talks about the future

What do you think?
