Good attempt - yet this doesn't give a clue why Brazil lost woefully. (Apart from these guys wearing the Hitter boots....something was missing in Brazil - culewise). Portugal had all and spain too. What happened?

That was a match? No scoring for ninety minutes? Isn't the idea to put the ball into an area of 192 square feet defended by only one player? I'd hate to see what they'd do on a snow covered field such as real football is played on at times, or with having a goal the size of a basketball net. I know a trainer at church of a professional soccer team and I reckon I'm going to have to ask him just what they attempt to teach those guys. :shrug

A low score is not unusual in soccer. Goals can be hard to obtain, especially when both teams are equally good. But that adds to the thrill of the game and makes the moments when a goal is scored more special.
Even without scoring goals a team's performance can be great. If they show good team play, decent attacks, tactical skill, good defense, swiftness, fairplay and so on it is still fun to watch them even if they do not score. I thought it was fun to watch the USA team play. They were in no way an embarassment.

Is there the possibility that soccer is crooked? Would a hero that could make all the women cry do that? Games can be bought and lost for profit, there can be faked injuries, or for several million dollars I might even allow you to break a toe on my kicking foot. Oh my.
Hmmmm :chin

A lot of things happen in our world of football/soccer. Teams and clubs can go extra miles to win an important match. You can sell the match: whatever you can do. The opponents can privately agree. (Fans suffer )

No one would fix such an important high profile game not even a World Series :biggrin

Ok now the Dutch vs Argentina. Echte mannen dragen oranje

Agua, so far (half time) you didn't miss much. Mostly players passing the ball back and forth and fouling each other. Barely any good chances to score.

That sucks. :-( You live on the wrong side of the world right now. :-(

Yeah but usually I live in the better side of the World imo. :biggrin

Argentinaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Yeah I watched the replay just now and even though it went to penalties Argentina were the better side all game and deserved the win imo.

So Messi's men vs Lahm's lads in the final. I have no idea who will win but I'm hoping for some Messi magic and a Klose goal.

That was aboring match last night. A real snooze fest. What a letdown. I literally fell asleep a few min into the second half a woke up when the penalty shootout started. Happy for Argentina, but they could have done better, both teams.

Netherlands successfully defeated Host Brazil by 3 nil to win third place in the FIFA World Cup 2014.

Argentina and Germany to fight for first position tomorrow

0-0 after 90 min. Argentina's defense is good, but their attacks are a little ... wait for it ... Messi. :lol Oh my, I'm so funny, haha. :lol

You exhibit the divine skill of sarcasm I possess; it's wonderful to observe greatness of its skill brought to fruition. I applaud you. :clap

Today the National Team of Germany whipped the daylights out of a lackluster performance of the Argentina pretenders, or score nothing for ninety minutes ending in a 1-0 loss. I didn't watch the game; how could I possibly miss something so important to the world's economy? Can we now put this boring game aside for four more years? Oh no, there's the women's teams to come next year? :shame

Yeah, big party going on here. The game was intense, too, despite having us wait for goals for such a long time. But that's something many Americans will never understand. :mischief

Aww I'm so sad it's over. Yeah, there will be the women's world cup next year, and the year after the Euro Cup. And then the women's Euro cup. And then another men's world cup. And lots of Champions' League.
Try playing soccer yourself, Eugene. It's really fun.
