Never mind, I think our problem is that we're failing to see the other one's point of view. :rolleyes Ah well, I got to go do the news anyway. :shrug
I know your argument. I have little faith in the state licensing method to insure things are done right. I have seen the problems with driving licensing in my state. numerous deaths are caused by elderly drivers who are too blind to legally drive or have dementia and the state was fully aware.i can renew by mail and they wont check my eye sight. I have heard they allowed a man who couldn't see the letters to go home(drive) and get his eye glasses. wasn't that the point of having them test the eyes? yes

Oh, I sort of see what you're saying now. It's not the fact that you're against being cautious, it's just the fact that you want to see them get done right. Is that what you're really trying to say? :chin

if were a going to ensure this then it should be done right, its seldom the case. they are anal and hyper anal about the cdl. if you have certain medical problems you cant drive. yet I couldn't drive with epilepsy with a cdl most likely but a car no problem.( depending the severity with a class e).

with fire crackers I say no. I have to do more thinking on the other larger ones. im not suggesting allowing a firework show style stuff to be bought and launched in ignorance as one must alert and coordinate with the faa if an airport is near by. fod will take a bird down fast.

but with non commercial im not buying that for now. the death of that man was with a commercial one.

I could drive without it, I drove cars without them for many years. Given a choice though, I prefer a back up camera. It does improve my situational awareness.
I find them as most of the ones I have seen have poor angles. I either see the bumper and two feet or part of the way back so that a person can walk behind me or a clearance. so in either case I must use my mirrors. again I know of a man who doesn't use hiss mirrors but the camera alone. which gives a very poor depth perception and doesn't alert him to things on his left or right that may be ok now and boom he grazed it because he moved to far and passed it and or an object was coming to him and he focused only his tail moving.

So,.. in another words,.. :?:?:?

not a license for fireworks and your basic small low level fireworks. most of the ones I see wont clear the height of telephone pole or even the 56k ones.

a commercial one will go up to 1000 ft or more and then spread. that's a bit different. I can sit on the bridges of vero and observe memorial going off. see the one in ft.pierce launching and enjoy and also sebestian these would be at least 5 or more miles from said barber bridge. that's not what im talking about.

Oh okay, I sort of get your point there. :yes And I actually do agree with you somewhat on what you're saying now.

I am only in favor of doing things right.
so how would you insure that? a police state.look my state outright banned fireworks, not even a sparkler was sold. yet we launched it all. we went to Georgia.we mail ordered the fireworks to us and had the fourth and boycotted the city and state sponsored sites and what da ya know the law was suddenly changed.

no massive deaths no one launching commericial grade fireworks, just basic stuff I always see.

so that is what it would take in my state. the law was posted and people claim to use it for ag purposes to get around the law all the time. they know we do it. unless you propose a police state they will simply look away at this and let us have fun.

cause prohibition works so well. they know this.

thanks. im not a fireworks nut. I wont even watch nor attend any fireworks this year. I cant get that close the mortar will cause a ptsd event.

I may go and take photos from a.w. young park and post them, but that will be as close as I can get to the launch site.

people might get hurt. yes we had those idiots who got burned from them. lighted them improperly or have a bunch in group stand next to each other and get burned and then the state got involved. yes I have seen this and it happened but I didn't cry foul as I learned from that and held it in a different manner.

I don't see how you could possibly get hurt with a sparkler, unless somebody is stupid enough to hold it from the wrong end. :rolleyes Anyways, I've got tons of sparklers that will last me a couple of years! :lol Both from in state and out of state.

not holding the wrong way but from the way they spread and also how far, they aren't supposed to be held. people wouldn't hold them and no problem but they do and it will hit you. its not that bad. yet the law had to act.lol

Umm,.. yes they're supposed to be held that's sort of the whole basic point. You're supposed to twirl them and run around with them. We are talking about the same thing aren't we?

yes but they aren't meant for that. the packages will warn you, they are meant to be lit on the ground and always were.
